How do you cope ?

Im here to vent! As a FTM I imagined my pregnancy/ motherhood very differently. I thought my day ones would’ve been there for me but instead I lost some. I am the type of person to meet you after work if you need me even if it’s just to lend a shoulder or ear. I never had a lot of girlfriends either for whatever reason they just all disappear. I’ve never done anything to them. I find it easier to make friends with guys. For the past 7 years, I’ve had a guy bestie! But even that bestie has disappeared. It really hurts a lot because this was someone I always thought I would have in my life. I do feel taken advantage of by him because I was always there for him & when I needed him the most! He wasn’t there for me. I am at a point in my life where I don’t want to keep chasing after people. Any thoughts?

Hey, I can totally relate to having more guy friends than girlfriends. I also found I just naturally grew apart from some people. As we weren’t in the same chapter of life at the same time. And I think that’s okay. People come and go. I don’t know if he has children or is expecting but he might come back when when he does. You know?

Totally relate to this. I just archived my last friend because I’m sick of chasing people. I just see it as outgrowing. Like Alana says, people come and go.

I always had more girl friends than guy friends and they didn't dissapear after I had a child. Some on the contrary surprised me, I knew one was idealogically childfree, so I thought I'd be boring for her when becoming a mom, but she was so supportive when she found out about my pregnancy and during early days of motherhood

I've always had a habit of seeing the good in people, even when their wasn't. I had a best friend for 8 years, and found out it was all basically a lie and she was just manipulating me and it was mostly one sided friendship. I just thought it was because of her home life and she'd get better. She just got worse and last I heard she was looking at time for fraudulent checks. My last BFF was a man and he was gay but he had a very toxic relationship with his mother and always wanted to cry on my shoulder and I let that happen for years and would give advice, but he never listened and only wanted to come around when he wanted to vent and have someone pity him. He moved and didn't talk to me for 3 years then heard I was pregnant and called me one time while he was drunk and that's the only time he called or wanted to talk. I gave up on having close friends a long time ago and just try to send love to others with a bit of a guard to my own heart. I love chatting with coworkers and I'm always there for others.

I’ve got 0 friends fr! I found it really hard to maintain any friendships after having my daughter. I just stopped getting mad about people not showing up for us and let them be. I find it difficult because everyone’s always at a different stage in their lives so I just found it easier to do me and I’ve never been happier than relying on ‘friends’ to have my back

Most of my local friends haven’t contacted me since my baby shower in December. I had to reach out and offer to host an evening to chill and have picky bits. So I’ve been reaching out for new friends.

Same here. Literally go some weeks with only talking to my husband. It’s so lonely. Even my mom has kinda fallen off talking to me on the regular.
