2-1 nap transition

Has anyone dropped to one nap yet? My boy is telling me all the signs he’s ready but I’m struggling with how to navigate it?
He’s currently waking around 5/6am and taking ages to go down for both his usual naps. Previously 09:30-10:30 and 2-3:30 but have been maxing wake windows and capping naps to protect bedtime going ridiculously late.

Today has been an utter car crash, awake at 06:00am- wouldn’t go back down even though tired. Didn’t nap until 10:05, capped at half an hour to protect the rest of the day. Then didn’t fall asleep until 2:40 and woke up crying at 3:20 still shattered asif he’s over tired? But recently if I’ve let him have an hour in the morning he refuses the second nap completely! I feel we were in such a good place with sleep and now I have 0 clue what to do for the best.
Those that have, how have you gone about this with your fomo babies that have low sleep needs?

I have found the best way to protect his sleep is to just let him sleep when he wants, for as long as he wants. This might not be the best advice for most people but it’s what works for me. He is still on 2 naps a day, a morning and afternoon nap and they could be anywhere from 45 mins to 2.5 hours. I just let him sleep. I haven’t found this affected night times at all.

I’ve heard it’s not ideal to drop them down to one up until they’re between 14 to 18 months.. sometimes if my little one fights his afternoon nap then I’ll put him in the pram and he does go off. I know he still gets tired and needs his two naps still.. maybe he’s just going through a phase 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

My baby's naps were so routine a week ago and this week has been a car crash, one day her wake window was 7 hours, one was 5 hours, some days 2.5 hours! She used to sleep 1.5-2 hours and now 15-20 mins! Driving me bonkers. But I don't think she's ready for 1 nap yet as her naps aren't long enough and still needing a rescue nap in the afternoon otherwise she'd go to bed at 4pm lol and then wake up at 2-3am

So we have one nap. Have for a few weeks now. Either 9-1130 or 130-330. Both ways she ends up sleeping 630-730 overnight.

We’ve always let the kids lead the way. Some days we are out doing things so a morning nap doesn’t work. So we sleep in the afternoon and she takes maybe 5-10 more minutes to get to sleep at night.

I have to cap his first nap to 45 minutes for him to then take a two hour nap in the afternoon. Otherwise he'll sleep too long in the morning and not want his second nap.
He Def still needs two naps for the wake windows not to be too long. Though some days he is just having too much fun and will only have one!

Yeah my little one is between 1 and 2 naps, if she has a morning nap before 11 she'll usually go all the way until 4-5ish for a second nap, she fights sleep all the time. On one nap days its usually early afternoon for between 1 and 2 hrs then she'll resist the second nap so I'll just try get her to bed a bit earlier that day. She usually just has one nap with the child minder and refuses the second, often grumpy in the evenings if she's only had a short nap earlier in the day.

Would this bug you?

My partner does his own washing (great!) and I do mine and our toddler’s.

Sometimes I put toddler’s clothes straight in the washing machine if they are ditched, with a view that I’ll do a load later.

But this morning, my partner needed to do a load of washing and instead of washing our toddler’s clothes with his (toddler had a vest, jumper, and a top), my partner took our toddler’s clothes out, put them on the side, so he could wash his own clothes???

Why not just chuck our toddler’s clothes in with his?

This has happened twice now and he’s never washed our toddlers clothes

Being on phone whilst breastfeeding or holding baby

Husband wants me to stay off my phone when breastfeeding day or night. He says the phone is too close to the baby's head. Husband is annoyed that I said No. I'm up doing nights and baby's in my arms and I should stay off my phone. Ridiculous. He said i should read or listen to something instead.

😒

Thoughts? Anyone else doing this.

FYI i'm not on my phone all feeds. Just at 3 something in the morning when I have had minimal sleep yes I am on my phone trying to stay awake.

Baby finally sleeping through but it’s now effecting my marriage

Controversial one and I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I miss daughter waking up in the night. She’s always been a 6:30-7:30pm to bed kinda baby. But she’d wake up twice a night.
However all of a sudden she’s started sleeping through but the catch is she goes to sleep after 9pm. By the time we’ve put her to bed and go ourselves sorted there isn’t much of an evening left to spend with my husband.
We used to cook together and watch films or box sets and chat. It’s done wonder for keeping our love life going as we’ve navigated becoming parents. But now we almost don’t have any down time together.
We get up around 6:15am for our jobs so it’s not realistic for us to be staying up much later.

Has anyone else experienced similar?

Fighting sleep

My little girl is 15 weeks and for the last 3ish weeks has been fighting every day time nap, and bedtime.

She doesn’t have strict wake windows and I just follow her sleepy cues, which are usually rubbing eyes, yawning, and staring into space. When she gets to this point I will give her her dummy to soothe into sleep, but she resists it to the point I have to rock her whilst she screams for 20 minutes before finally falling asleep.

She only wakes twice in the night around 1:30 for a feed and again at 6:30.

Is there a way to stop this or will she just naturally learn to fall asleep peacefully one day? 😂

Reducing formula

My little one is about to turn one and I know I need to be reducing her formula intake. She does eat well but there is always a concern she isn’t eating everything she needs nutritionally. She currently has 4 150ml bottles a day. 1st one about 05:45 and the final one before bed and tooth brushing. She loves her milk so I know it will be hard to reduce. My aim is to lose the day bottles first.
