Car troubles

I have a 6-week old baby. He cries/screams door to door when in the car.
We have a fairly old maxi cosy car seat.
I’ve managed to get him to fall asleep once in the car (after about 10 mins of crying/screaming) otherwise it’s constant. Any tips? I’m open to buying a new car seat if anything is designed to help…

Honestly - some kids hate the car. My son screamed every car journey until he was around 18 months old and then he just.. stopped. Now he doesn’t mind it x

I always kept things on hand to hand back to them as a distraction, especially during teeth whole peeled carrots were a good hardback. Anything interesting to aid to the art of distraction

My baby screams and cries depending on how frequently we’re in the car. When I was working she was in a car everyday and HATED it so we offered toys and distractions and even bottles while driving so she was comfortable. They’ll get used to it eventually

Maybe try a tablet with musical songs

Mine gets car sick and never liked being in a car, hates the car seat…
Looking into a good fitting car seat is a good idea though

A dummy helped us in the car at the start until he got better at it. My son then weaned himself off it at 8 months and I was worried car journeys would be awful but they were generally ok from then

Some babies hate the car, and eventually grow out of it. My son screamed every car journey until 5 months old, then it was every other journey until about 8 months. Then he was old enough to hold toys and be distracted.

Some people have success with certain songs, like the happy song by Imogen heap. Some babies prefer to be more sat up so putting them in the next stage seat as soon as they're big enough and her a good safe fit (at 5 months for us).

How old is your cabriofix? They have an "expiry" date which is usually 10 years from manufacture date, but double check.

Also I don't know the rules in Australia but in England I can put a child's car seat in the front so that helped a bit

My baby was the same up until probably 9 months then it just changed and she got more chilled in the car seat. I genuinely think she was uncomfortable as our nuna seat just looked uncomfortable when she was in it! We tried a lot of diff things! She still isn’t amazing at 14 months but much better than hysteric screaming every car ride which was really hard when I was on my own!

The car seat might be uncomfortable

Ickle bubba 360 so it’s easy to put baby in.

Fill up his tummy before any car trips. My girl was like this but I quickly learnt that she needed to be completely full before getting in

When you say fairly old, how old? As they do have an expiration date beyond which it's not safe to use.

Speech

How many words does your 18mo have? We've got about 6/7 and have been told by nursery and the health visitor thats the lower end/slightly behind. She understands very well, but rarely uses the words she knows and was a late babbler.

Just wondering if anyone else had been through the same with any advice to help her speech?

Need some advice

My baby is on cow and gate and has been for the last 2 weeks. I introduced breast alongside but she is refusing to latch because of the confusion and is getting frustrated when I’m trying to feed. However I’ve now stopped (for my mental state) she’s now showing signs of being very uncomfortable and straining and isn’t pooing until over 48 hours. We have been to the doctors and they have said because she is showing signs of uncomfortableness and straining to switch formulas. However they said not to use cow and gate comfort as it sits in the stomach longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for formula that will help her bowels?

Poonami proof nappies

Hey ladies!
I am a woman on the edge. My baby has not had a single poo in the last 3 days that hasn’t escaped out of her nappy somehow. We’re using pampers which are supposed to be poonami proof! Is my baby just an aggressive pooper?!
Thoughts, prayers and advice needed please ❤️

Dummies?!

Looking for some advice, my nearly 5 week old baby will suck on a dummy for around 1-2 mins then spits it out and start fussing again that he wants it, sometimes he will even wake up from a nap for it. This will continue until he falls into a deep sleep and eventually when the dummy falls out he won’t wake back up . He will also settle without a dummy so does he maybe just not want it or are the dummies too big for his mouth I’m not sure 😩 we have tried the mam newborn orthodontic ones and the tommee tippee 0-2 month (the teat on these are a lot bigger). He is also formula fed, has anyone else been through this if so all advice welcome 🙏🏻
