Dummies?!

Looking for some advice, my nearly 5 week old baby will suck on a dummy for around 1-2 mins then spits it out and start fussing again that he wants it, sometimes he will even wake up from a nap for it. This will continue until he falls into a deep sleep and eventually when the dummy falls out he won’t wake back up . He will also settle without a dummy so does he maybe just not want it or are the dummies too big for his mouth I’m not sure 😩 we have tried the mam newborn orthodontic ones and the tommee tippee 0-2 month (the teat on these are a lot bigger). He is also formula fed, has anyone else been through this if so all advice welcome 🙏🏻

My baby’s absolute favorite are the dr browns pacifiers! Literally since birth. The Philips avent ones are almost the exact same shape but smaller if that’s what you’re worried about!

My son would do the same with all other pacifiers except these https://a.co/d/0hUNMYKV

He is now one and still doesn't like any other ones.

Try different ones. Or dip it in breast milk

My son ONLY likes these ones. They’re really light so that he can hold them in his mouth easily and they have a more flatish shape for the pacifier itself https://www.target.com/p/mam-pacifier-variety-pack-0-6m-3pk/-/A-91487340?preselect=83796931#lnk=sametab

My son was the exact same! No matter what brand I tried he just wouldn’t keep it in and he’s now nearly 6 months old and we’ve just decided to take it away which he’s handled really well. Up until we got rid of it a couple of weeks ago we’d have to hold it in or prop it until he feel into a deep sleep and it was a pain if it fell out as like you said they wake up.

Even if for now you just keep it propped in and once he starts exploring with his mouth he will start to suck on his fingers to soothe himself or find something else to latch on. The first 3-5 days/nights will be the hardest if you get rid of the dummy all together but then after that the habit will be broken and he won’t cry for it anymore xx

My son hated pacis! He’d take it for a minute or so then spit it out as well. The only ones he somewhat liked were the Dr Browns.

Speech

How many words does your 18mo have? We've got about 6/7 and have been told by nursery and the health visitor thats the lower end/slightly behind. She understands very well, but rarely uses the words she knows and was a late babbler.

Just wondering if anyone else had been through the same with any advice to help her speech?

Need some advice

My baby is on cow and gate and has been for the last 2 weeks. I introduced breast alongside but she is refusing to latch because of the confusion and is getting frustrated when I’m trying to feed. However I’ve now stopped (for my mental state) she’s now showing signs of being very uncomfortable and straining and isn’t pooing until over 48 hours. We have been to the doctors and they have said because she is showing signs of uncomfortableness and straining to switch formulas. However they said not to use cow and gate comfort as it sits in the stomach longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for formula that will help her bowels?

Poonami proof nappies

Hey ladies!
I am a woman on the edge. My baby has not had a single poo in the last 3 days that hasn’t escaped out of her nappy somehow. We’re using pampers which are supposed to be poonami proof! Is my baby just an aggressive pooper?!
Thoughts, prayers and advice needed please ❤️
