Is it worth trying for a baby during exclusive breastfeeding time?

Hey there, since there is a small chance of getting pregnant before getting your period back, is it worth trying? I mean without your cycle back you do not know when to try and doing it every two days would be too exhausting.

You might still be ovulating without a period when EBF. What you can do is buy ovulation strips and test daily. Our temp is also higher and we also have more discharge when ovulating so if you track all those you’ll be able to find out when and if you ovulate.

I got pregnant when my daughter was still breastfeeding before my period came back

Amazing that you already feel ready for another one! In world day five your body time. Soon everything is so different when they start moving around the house

I didn't have my period come back but continued breastfeeding after starting solids. LO is now 22 months and I'm 27 weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's recommended to wait longer between births especially when you are older so your body can heal and reset. There is a greater risk of complications for you and baby,s development if you don't wait

Medical professionals highly recommend waiting 18 months before trying to conceive again so the woman's body has time to 100% recover. Pregnancies very close together come with risks. I'd make an appointment with your OBGYN office and talk to them before trying to conceive again.

Girl my little one is 2 and no longer breastfeeding and I still don't feel ready for a second one 😂
If that's what works for your family, go for it! It took me a while to get my period back so just keep in mind it could take time, but at least you're still having fun with your partner in the process 😂

I was breastfeeding and I was told it’s probably the best time to try because you’re supper fertile, my baby was only 3 months old and I got pregnant literally the first time we had sex didn’t expect it at all but that was silly to think lol, but I do not regret it I’ve got a 1 year old and a 2 month old now and it’s surprisingly very easy as they are only 11 months apart their needs are pretty similar and once you’ve found that routine it’s great and they already have the best bond, give it a go girl but only when youre not tired x

Any mamas in this situation? Doc says she needs formula

Breastfed since one month old. Born (4lbs 11oz) At her two month check with my midwives they said she was doing really well with weight gain (6lbs 5oz). Now at 3 months we went to our family doctor and she is at 7lbs 6.4oz.

My doctor is concerned about weight gain but also said she’s doing great with holding her head, being attentive, etc. Dr. Said I should give formula

But what I don’t understand is my daughter always seems satisfied with feeding and doesn’t cry or fuss after. Anyone have a similar situation?

Sleep Training

Hi! I was j wondering when everyone is starting sleep training and how they are doing it? My 3mo wakes up once of a night at around 3/4am after being asleep since 10pm, and has been doing so for about a month now. I’m not sure wether that means she is ready or not? She can sometimes settle herself after being woken up from a nap after about 2-3 mins (I never leave her longer as I get scared/worried about if she starts crying) and she has a pretty decent routine during the day. Should I start sleep training? What methods are good and reliable ( I am NOT considering the cry-it out method so please do not suggest it) (Pic so I don’t get lost)

When do your children go to bed?

I just saw a post about people being lucky their kids go to bed at 7pm, the comments were filled with people saying if they sent their kids to bed at 7…they’d be up at 3:30am / 4am / 5am…why is that??

My son goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up around 8/8:30am. I do consider myself really blessed with his sleep schedule however he doesn’t nap and he’s nearly 2 🤣 he dropped his final nap when he was around 14/15 months old 💔 if it’s later please let me know! Also what time they wake up - I’m curious 👀

I think my marriage is past the point of saviour.

Hey everyone.

Sorry for the long read but please bare with me.

My husband and I have been together 7.5 years and married for 4 years. We have a nearly 5 year old little boy together.

Everything at the beginning of our relationship was everything I had ever wanted in a relationship. My husband was kind, caring, helpful, ambitious, strong etc. We both spoke about the want for our own family and how we would want to be as parents. Moving forward we got pregnant (planned), pregnancy wasn't easy and I was in and out of hospital a lot during 3rd trimester. My husband was perfect and excited etc throughout pregnancy until the 3rd trimester hit and then went of the rails a bit, drinking etc and not really there when needed.

I had experience with children and helped raised my neices, my husband had no experience. Neither of us had a good upbringing.

Roll on birth and my husband had a face like a slapped bum, our little boy was born absolutely perfect. I was really poorly and lost quite a lot of blood and was being sick. I had the shakes so bad I was struggling to hold my son. My husband left me before I was even moved to the ward whilst being unwell. He left me to go meet his dad at the pub to wet the babies head.

After we were discharged home my husband just took a back seat with everything. I done everything for our son all whilst recovering from a cseaction. My son was a poorly baby and I was also back and forth to Dr's and hospital with him on my own. My husband got a job where it was very long hours and having to stay away a few times a week for work. I was keeping the house, doing everything for our son and keeping everything together with no village. Roll on my son's like 3 weeks old and my husband says he feels nothing for our son. Shortly after this he has a massive breakdown. I supported him through all of this, took him to appointments whilst doing everything for my son who was still poorly.

For 1.5 years I done everything for my son and for everyone else and kept everything together.

Roll on to nearly 4 years later (sons nearly 5) and turns out my son is neurodivergent, has a eating disorder, now has a PEG fitted, has ketotic hyperglycemia, asthma and allergies. I'm dealing with this day in day out all whilst dealing with my own chronic health conditions.

My husband tries but he just shouts at our son a lot and gets frustrated. I feel like we just butt heads and I end up having to defend our child. He still trys to be sexual and kiss etc but I have no desire at all and even him just touching me just makes me want to pull away.

I feel like he hurt me more than anyone or anything possible. He ruined what was meant to the best time of our lives and ruined my whole experience entering motherhood and I just can't get past that. I've spoken to him and told him all this. He keeps saying he's sorry and he will change but it's just empty promises. He's not the man I feel in love with and he's not the father he was meant to be or that I want for our child.

Any advice please?

How are we weaning from bottles to sippy cups??

My daughter will be 1.5 in December and her pediatrician recommended sippy cups instead of bottles, the only issue is I don’t think my daughter is getting the concept. She refuses to hold it on her own and just won’t drink from it even when I’m holding it. What tips and tricks worked for you?
