I was discussing an elective induction with my previous OB and they said they’ll figure out a way to do it. My husband has a very demanding and unpredictable work schedule (military), we now have no car, and we have no family or friends around us. I switched OBs though because I didn’t like the hospital they delivered at and brought an induction back up to my new OB. They are denying it due to increased risk of C-section even though there’s no indication that I would need a C-section as of right now. Apparently they won’t do any elective inductions. I’m a bit worried because this is my first baby and he’s already 7+ lbs at 37 weeks. I hear it’s common to “overcook” on your first boy and I don’t want that to happen and I’m looking at delivering like a 10 lb baby or something. I also have extreme anxiety where I will pass out so I was seeking some form of scheduled reassurance. I’m a little mad they’re denying this for me.

Everyone I know that has an elective induction ends up with a c section. Their babies just weren't ready to come out so the induction didn't matter. Also, the baby's weight is typically not accurate at this stage and usually they estimate higher.

I would recommend having sex with husband and him ejaculating in you. Sperm can help with labor and with my first my water broke <12 hours after having sex at 38 weeks.

I totally understand you. I had asked for an elective induction at 39 weeks(which I am today) and they told me at the hospital it was not a priority because my pregnancy is not high risk and had to let baby cook. This were the words from the nurse “Don’t stress yourself, you don’t have any medical issues to have an induction so we will have you on a waiting list but not as a priority. You have to let that baby cook” I started crying bc I felt like I had done something wrong, mind you I asked for it because it’s my first baby and I was worried bc a lot
of things weren’t being said or explained to me and just called them “normal” Idk what’s normal and what’s not normal. Now I’m at the point I can’t walk due to my baby being so low and heavy. Im just letting everything be and will definitely ask for an induction at 40 weeks because Im in a lot of pain right now.
So I went for a gender scan today at exactly 18 weeks pregnant. The baby was soo active, it wouldn't sit still at all. So it made it very difficult and awkward to guess it's gender. It looked like a GIRL at first when we looked between the legs, as it was flat. But then on a side view, we could see something cropping up from the hips above the legs. So it looked like a BOY! The sonographer said she was unable to tell, so we rebooked the scan in 2 weeks. Is this normal? Has anyone else had instances where they couldn't find the gender? ...
Also I've added pictures of my baby scans from 8 week (Top), 12 weeks (Middle) and the 18 weeks (Bottom) scans for you to please guess if you can identify what you think it'll be? I'm sooo curious!

Hey Guys! I’m 36 weeks and had my growth scan yesterday. Consultant advised that baby is transverse. Have to go back for presentation scan at 37 weeks and if no change, will have be admitted to hospital until a planned C-Section as they don’t want to risk natural labour. Anyone else been through something similar?
Thanks!

So for my first baby, I ended up getting preeclampsia so I got induced which ended up an emergency C-section for my second. I was given the option to do vaginal birth, or C-section at first I was fairly confident in my decision of choosing a C-section for familiarity however, the closer I got to my scheduled appointment it just felt wrong, I was getting more nervous and sad that I would be missing out on the opportunity to actually try to have a vaginal birth. I’d already taken the week off prior to my scheduled surgery to help prepare myself and would have loved to have just waited it out till he came on his own
however, I had a strict two months of leave time so if I were to have pushed past my appointment date to try and wait for vaginal birth, I would’ve been losing out on the time with my baby before I went back to work waiting for him to come. And the familiarity i thought I would have, I realized things were gonna be completely different. I was rushed in to my first C-section and while laboring, I was basically being prepped for it. My epidural already placed and catheter put in. For my scheduled C-section, I’d have to arrive two hours early and go through all the prep. By the time I arrived to the hospital, I was practically terrified for my surgery. I had the shakes before even going into surgery and even worse while in surgery I practically threw up the whole time. Thankfully, I was able to get skin to skin contact with my baby this time around during surgery instead of being knocked out at the end like last time, but I feel this time around was more traumatic than my emergency C-section, which left me with really bad postpartum and because I was so shut down from my surgery it took me almost 3 weeks to feel connected to my baby and I’ll never get that time back.

I am 16 days post elective c section and bleeding stopped around day 7. Today (day 16pp) I have suddenly started bleeding again. Its quite bright but no clots or any other warning signs currently but has made me worry slightly. Any one else experience this?
