No judgement here! Just would like to know peoples views on sending there LO’s to nursery.
If you were to send what age are you sending? If you didn’t have too would you send anyway for socialisation etc? If so what age?

We sent my son a few times when 10 months old and it solidified my decision to not send him as I was unsure as it is. He got so sick from the first settling session and it was horrendous seeing him like that. We sent him back and he the got sick again which turned into a chest infection.
We took him out after that and won’t be sending him until much older to a pre school purely to get him used to the setting on a part time basis.

I was planning on sending my little girl at 9 months as I need to return to work then. I do also think it does them good. However she was born 8 days past the cut off to qualify for 30 free hours for the Easter term so I wouldn't have been able to afford the nursery fees. Luckily my family is now going to have her until September when we will get the free hours. She will then be 14 months. I would have preferred her to start earlier at 9 months but finances just don't allow unfortunately. X

I’ve just put my daughter in nursery, she’ll be 3 in a month. She’s only going one day a week, and I’ve only done it because I’ve started a new job that’s full time. If I had a choice though, I wouldn’t bother. She doesn’t like it and she gets plenty of time socialising in toddler groups anyway.

My son is absolutely thriving at nursery.

Yup, daycare is great. He started at 11 months and is 28months now. He learns so much, tells us all about his friends, gets to try a ton of new foods and activities.
Yes he got sick often but now it is less often and it means when he goes to school he will have some protection and not get sick often then.

We have to due to work and he really does love it (once we’ve left haha) - it’s helped with his independent sleep and eating massively. If I wasn’t working I’d still send him, just less; as much as I like to think I’m the kind of mum who has time to do tonnes of crafts and activities, I just don’t think I am, so it’s good for him to have that outlet x

Our little girl goes to nursery 4 mornings a week and has since she was 9 months when my maternity leave finished. I honestly think she’s thriving so much there as opposed to if I’d left work and stayed home with her. She’s an only child and all of my friends have much older children so I don’t have any friends with babies her age. I truly feel that being able to see and socialise with babies her own age has been so beneficial for her and given her so much confidence.
She does pick up lots of colds there, but I just think, every cold is helping her immune system develop, and hopefully will mean she’s a bit more resilient when she starts school.

My LG started at 15 months and I think it was too early if I didn’t have to go back to work I would have waited until at least two years

My first went to preschool 2 days a week when she turned 4 years old. My boy will probably go 2 days when he is 3.5 years old.

My eldest went 5 days a week from 9 months as we don’t have anyone else to have him and he absolutely thrived. My second will be doing the same x

Were sending my daughter at 2 only because the daycare situation where I live is awful we can't get in anywhere sooner. If I had my way and we had unlimited money I'd send her part time to montessori.

We started our boy when he was 9 months old. We had no choice as I was going back to work. I then lost my job so we considered taking him out but he was doing so well and it was so beneficial for him we decided to keep him in. He was going two days a week then.
There are other ways to socialise them so it doesn't have to be nursery for that. In an ideal world I probably wouldn't have started him until he was older but it worked out well for us in the end.

We placed our daughter in Pre school at 2 years old once a week mainly for socialising and she absolutely loves it, gives me chance to do housework or work on my small business while she’s there too.
Thank you all! Me and my partner both do shifts work, I’ll only be going back part time and I reckon we can make it work between us childcare wise (we’re just be sleepy but what’s new) 😅 I just didn’t know whether I was doing the right thing not sending her til later on/whether she’ll miss out etc! Xx

My little boy has been in nursery for almost a year now. He started when he was 10 months old & he absolutely loves it ❤️ I think it’s helped him with his words massively & he is a super social little boy. He goes in 2 days a week as his dad works full time & I work 4 days a week so he goes in nursery 2 days & then granny 2 days ❤️

Our LB has been going 2 days a week since 10 months and he absolutely loves it and is thriving

If working part-time I’d prefer to stay home with LO, they pick up so many habits from you so my LO loves joining in on cleaning and watching me cook! Some of my favourite moments have been just us in the house. And the days don’t need to be constantly filled with activities either, I’m more inclined towards the montessori method. Also I think it’s been so valuable seeing them grow and having such a big part in their early life. When they’re little they don’t play with others much even at playgroup so that can come later imo, it’s no rush.

Both my oldest went from age 2 and my third will do the same - they have/will all attend where I work, therefore I am extremely comfortable with it.
I am fortunate enough that my mum has had my children before turning 2

I sent my son to nursery 2 days a week from 12 months old as I had to go back to work. I absolutely hated sending him whilst he was still literally a baby. If I didn’t work, I would have sent him for just a couple of morning sessions from the age of 2. If you’re able to, I would not be sending your child until at least they are 2.

My daughter started when she was 2 & it was the best decision ever she’s come on so much since she started, her talking got better, she socialised and she loves it and it means I get one on one time with my youngest

I would say 2 2/half and only for a few hours for one day, I used to work in a nursery I personally some of the aren’t great but for socialising reason I’d say few hours a day won’t do any harm
I’m looking for some perspective because I’m starting to feel that I’m mad and I’m not sure whether I’m being unreasonable.
My husband works 9-5 and Mon to Thu, has around 1h commuting each way. I completely understand that he is tired when he gets home and needs some time to decompress. I’m not expecting him to come through the door and immediately take over everything. However, I’m struggling with the fact that I don’t feel like my need for rest is being considered in the same way.
I’m currently EBF, so I understand that there are things he genuinely can’t do, particularly overnight. But during the day I’m with the baby constantly and then when he comes home, I’m still doing what I’ve been doing all day. He’ll often play with the baby while I have a shower or do something around the house, which I appreciate, but sometimes it feels like he sees this as “helping me” rather than simply being a parent. Then the night shift starts again for me because I am EBF and I haven’t rested all day. Also, he sleeps in the guest room, which is great, but if he’s slept all night uninterrupted he should feel rested.
The weekends are where I struggle most. He seems to feel that playing with the baby is his main contribution, while I end up using that time to clean, do laundry, tidy, cook, etc. It can feel as though he gets to spend his free time playing with our baby while I’m still responsible for making sure the house functions.
If he plays with the baby while I clean the house, he isn’t really “giving me a break” because I’m still working. I’m just doing a different type of work. Likewise, I don’t want to feel like I should be grateful that he is looking after his own baby while I get on with the chores.
I also don’t expect the house to be spotless or for everything to be perfectly divided 50/50. I know that with a baby, things are different and that his job and commute take a lot out of him. But I feel like there needs to be some recognition that I also need time when I am genuinely off duty.
At the moment, it feels like his working day finishes and eventually he gets some time to rest, whereas my “working day” doesn’t really finish. I’m with the baby all day, then I’m doing things around the house, then I’m breastfeeding through the night, and the next morning it starts again.
Before we had the baby, I didn’t feel like I’m looking for some perspective because I’m starting to feel quite resentful and I’m not sure whether I’m being unreasonable.
I’m beginning to feel like I’m on a 24h rota between the baby and the house, and honestly, I’m starting to feel more like a housekeeper and primary caregiver than an equal partner.
I don’t want to resent him, because I know he works hard and I know he loves our baby. I also don’t want to minimise the fact that his commute is exhausting. But I need him to understand that I am exhausted too, just in a different way.
How do other couples divide things when one parent is exclusively breastfeeding and the other is working full-time? What does a fair division actually look like?? Please help

Just letting you all know that the Aldi/Lidl wooden toy event has started with wooden appliances, foods, tools toys for children!
Planning for christmas, birthdays or buying ahead for your little one or maybe even yourself!
I managed to get hold of the fridge, country kitchen and basic foods - may go back for some more wooden foods and sweet treats to fill the kitchen!

Its 1.30pm and all I have managed to do today is a quick shower and eat some toast. I havent been able to dry my hair, eat lunch, get dressed properly. I am so tired. Baby sleeps awful at night. Been feeding baby on and off for 2 hours. Every time they fall asleep I put them down and they wake within 2 mins. Even tried safe cosleeping as everyone swears by it, so I could at least sleep for a while, nope, he wakes within 5-7 mins just as I am starting to relax. We already do 1-2 bottles a day and its not helping. My husband will be home in 1 hour with our other child from school and I wont be able to play with her or anything as Im not even meeting my own basic needs. Does anyone have any advice as I cant continue like this, its hell honestly

My "partner" has gone awol. Im currently 5 months pregnant, he went out yesterday to the bank and was ment to get my tablets from the hospital as im classed as a high risk pregnancy and then arranged to go baby shopping. I ended work and proceeded to meet him. I tried ringing ect his phone switched off...I waited for 20 minutes and left to come home. When I returned home his car was here but he wasn't...I checked the camera and he walked up the street at 3.25pm and hasn't been seen or any contact since. I rang him work he hadn't let them know and he'd judt not turned up! I have notified the authorities...the last time he did the whole disappearing was a month ago then came back early hours. In an hour it'll be 24 hours.
He obviously just doesn't give a f**k tbh especially as he never even got my medication and I currently feel embarrassed and vulnerable especially as my family saw the real him before I did or maybe I did but didn't want to see it.
How do I cope?
Im petrified of becoming a single mum and doing it all on my own 😢 as i don't have a village.

I think I’m in a narcissistic abusive relationship. I don’t know if my algorithm has just been picking up on it and steering me to that content, or if it’s just a trending topic rn. But I honestly hate my husband, yet I feel like he’s all I have and I can’t leave. In the beginning of our relationship, he would encourage me to hang out with my friends but make subtle criticisms about them. Recently he just blatantly states “I don’t think they’re good for our relationship.” Yet he talks to his ex daily, and somehow that’s okay. He get defensive when I talk about anything serious, and when I try to keep things light, I need to shut up because it’s useless information and no one cares. Everyday me and the kids all cater to his emotions, and we can’t have fun unless he is. I’m constantly criticized, and he degrades me to the kids. Sex isn’t even good anymore because the entire time he just tells me I’m not good enough and it’s nothing like it used to be when we first met. I’m constantly drowning, and my friends and family are critical of me for staying even though they don’t even know what is happening behind closed doors and I just feel like if they think the little things are bad, they’d judge me way worse knowing the full extent. But when he’s not around me I feel uneasy and anxious and desperate to be close to him again. He makes me feel like I can’t survive without him, even though I know I can and I actually think the reality is that he won’t survive without me.
I just don’t know how to break the trauma bond and escape this.

My husband pissed me off.. baby had been cluster feed ALL day! Out of all days I was up early went to physical therapy came back, and baby literally would not sleep unless I was holding her or she was on the boob. My husband went to work and got off early originally calling because he was gonna stop for wings but said he felt guilty and came home with food. GREAT.. WRONG.
Baby starts crying as soon as I put her down to try to eat so I leave my food on a coffee table and my dog eats my fucking food. At this point I’m just over stimulated..
It started with a comment because he changed one poop diaper earlier she pooped again, so I was like can you please changed her again (keep in mind this mfer doesn’t even have to wake up with her bc I’ve done nights with her since she was born 3months ago) has the nerve to say he did me a favor…. I just give him a look I couldn’t control it and blurt out, you’re not doing me no f-ing favors it’s YOUR daughter too.. (maybe I could have been nicer?)
But at this point baby has been up all day nothing worked a walk outside, a bath, complete darkness and on my tit for an hour (I literally felt sucked DRY..just completely touched out ) finally at midnight she falls asleep and I go downstairs to sit with my husband who is playing video games and he turns while on the headset and tells me. Shouldn’t you be asleep since the baby makes you so tired.. I just BOILED… I needed a minute, so I thought with him or even to myself before getting to unwind for bed.. so I just walk away.. I was in the kitchen washing my pump part and he comes up trying to hug me and has the nerve to get mad because I said, I don’t want it & proceeded to be like what now, why are you mad.. haha and what do you know baby starts crying.. it was just a long day.. I’m 4 hours of sleep in and up after a feed but the feelings are still lingering.. am I over reacting. Do I just let it go?
