Bully or im just sensitive

Today finally we were going to the beach after being sick👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏽👶🧒👧🏼. I gained some weight recently due to injury....and the only thing that fits me was a tennis romper that resembles a dress bathing suit. I asked my wife for help in the back. First thing she says is Dance and sing like this...a meme we are both familiar making fun of a girls skirt.

I was already sad I couldn't use my other pink bathing suit. So I was so emotional, embarrassed and humiliated. I just cried my way back to my room and told her she always bullies me. She explained it was not making fun of me.

This is not the first time she engaged with mentioning what I look like or resemble in a new outfit.

Once she I cried myself out. She told me "Well I already canceled the plans....anyways it was going to be expensive. It's not my fault you are feeling bad for yourself and you can't wear your other bathing suit"

So I felt like it's my fault because I can be the butt of the joke because I gained weight? She also said

" Well where is your sence of humor? You're always laughing and having fun"

But at my expense?

Once she said a grey dress made me look like a mummy🧟‍♀️....im front of everyone. Everyone in her family were laughing. And they laughed more when I began to cry. But somehow they forgot about it. 😭

Am I just sensitive...can I fix my way of reacting?
I really want to get out of my house and do stuff but she the one I expect the most always bullies me but claims is just playful banter. Why if I am always crying 😢 😭.

You’re not over reacting for the mere reason because you told her you do not like it!!! We can over react for some things but when you tell your partner you don’t like it and they keep doing it is a red flag!

It’s sad your partner is making comments like that. Even after telling her how you feel and her seeing it brings you to tears. I think it’s even worse her making those comments in front of others. You definitely don’t deserve to be embarrassed like that especially by your own partner. I would try having another conversation with her about it all. If nothing changes then it kind of shows you how much she just doesn’t care and the lack of respect she has for you.

I think you may be a little sensitive when it’s just you two with a in joke about the meme , but when she made a joke in front of her family at your expense that’s just mean …

This is bullying and it's not ok. She knows this is something you are sensitive about and she should be reassuring you that she thinks you're beautiful. Instead she's mocking the way you look, gaslighting you and dismissing your reasonable response, and triangulating by bringing her family into it to support her behaviour. You are right to stand up to this and call it out. And especially when you have children who will learn from you both how to treat people. I would suggest looking up resources on how to manage this.

She shouldn't talk to you that way. And...you sound like the kind of couple where when she says something like that you could respond to her with another meme letting her know she's being a total b*tch right now. Or maybe you have a phrase to let her know her "playful banter" 🤮 has crossed the line.

lt sucks to gain weight unexpectedly but as you are on your healing journey I hope you are able to get out there and rock your tennis romper era. You can be beautiful, good, kind, special, and worthy at any weight (or in any bathing suit!). ❤️ Partner approval not required!! 😘

You look great ! I wouldn’t listen to her . You can do better if that’s how she’s treating you . Sorry you have to deal with that 💗

Nursery settling in period

My LB has been settling into nursery this week and is doing amazing. Only cried once when we re-entered - can't lie I felt a bit betrayed having been on mat leave with him for 11.5 months but I digressed. Anyway for the last two three days he's been waking up 6am instead of 6.30am. Is this normal? Also they only do one nap at nursery at midday. He still has two naps as if he's awake for too long he becomes really fussy and whiny until he goes to sleep so I'm worried how they will transition him to one nap. Also, his nap is just before the time he needs to be nursery each day for settling in between 9.30/10am. Oh and for the first time ever he refused his bedtime bottle last night. Would love to hear your experiences and advice please.

Can’t cope with sleep deprivation anymore

My 9 month old basically refuses to sleep. He constantly wakes up in the night and like
Tonight I’ve been up 3 hours with him.

He’ll sleep in my bed but I don’t want him in here because then I’m just giving in and giving him what he wants. I don’t even sleep when he’s in my bed either because I’m so uncomfortable.

I don’t even know what to do anymore at this point. I’m a miserable person from the sleep deprivation and incredibly depressed but health visitors and doctors are useless 😭

Daughter diagnosed with not what I thought

My 13 year old daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years from age 9 more so, I have been fighting for a diagnosis and a assesment for her to get her the suport. I took her when she was 10 to the doctors due to what I thought was depression to get her support and they mentioned a possible high functioning autism into it. So we have fighting for a assesment for that for years. I have sacrificed everything my job, my life completly to support her, the half term meltdowns, the agression, the shutdowns and protecting as well as suppporting my younger 2 children. Days where she would kick the door down while I sit behind it until she calmed down as the explosion of her would be so huge I neeeded to protect myself and her siblings. I found out yesterday after going through right to choose assesments that she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety as the report says and feedback video call. Not being selfish or rude. I have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling broken and dont know what to do with my life as my litterallly when your daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years, fighting for a diagnosis and i have sacrificed everything my job, my life to find out she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety. i have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling brokengrieving thewhen your daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years, fighting for a diagnosis and i have sacrificed everything my job, my life to find out she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety. i have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling broken past few years of sacrifices and memories ruined for her doing it on as it feels purpose. God it hurts. Anyone know of anything I can do with all this would really help?

I need a bit of solidarity or some tips because I’m TIRED 😂🫩🥴🤪

Baby boy is 4.5 months, 5 months next week and for the past 2-3 weeks we’ve suddenly been waking up every 2 hours through the night. Sometimes he wakes because he wants feeding, other times he just wakes up crying and needs resettling. It’s not gas.

What used to work for my husband doesn’t seem to work anymore either, so most of the time I have to get up, pick him up, cuddle him and sometimes feed him to get him back down. He’ll wake up every 2 hours like clockwork and I’m honestly exhausted.

During the day he’s grand. He’s a regular short napper but he’s happy, smiley, smart and great kid, so I really don’t want to complain because I know these phases pass and I know he’s a blessing. But I am definitely sleep deprived and tired at the moment and I think I just needed to acknowledge that too 😂

Did anyone else have this around 4-5 months? Did it eventually settle on its own? Any tips for getting through it or helping them resettle without needing me every single time? Mostly just looking for solidarity from other tired mums
