Hey so I’m expecting another little one and it’s a possibility they’ll opt for me to have a C-section due to risks etc from my previous pregnancies but I’m just wondering what peoples experiences are & the pain afterwards etc, can you really not do much after a C-section? I’m really scared about the birth this time but just want to know what it’s like having a C-section too

I have had 2 previous sections and will be having another one because after two and current pregnancy with twins I don’t really have a choice.
My experience is that it isn’t easy but you get through it.
The pain is bad but if you relax, take your time to heal/accept help and keep up with the pain meds you. (You get told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain)
My first I did too much too quick and my second I ended up with an infection due to the heat luckily it was caught very quickly.
My first was an emergency so everything was rush rush rush,
Second was elective so it was a lot calmer where I got to choose the music and everyone was a lot more chilled even had a good laugh with the nurse monitoring vitals 😊

My VBAC recovery was so much better than my c section, and I had no complications as such. I really didn’t enjoy recovery. But ofcourse if I HAD to do it again, I’d just have to get on with it!
You do what’s right for you and baby ❤️🫶🏽

I had an emergency with my first and planning to have an elective this time. The initial few days after is tough, but recovery wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. I had plenty of paid meds sent home with me and was rarely in pain. The only thing I really remember was being scared to laugh, and not being able to get out of bed independently for maybe a week (also out of fear!).
As long as you don’t push yourself, but equally stay a little active and get rest you’ll get through it x

I had and elective CS and my birth and recovery is very positive. I loved it and now I’m expecting again I’m torn between VBAC or CS again.
I was advised by my friends to keep on top of my pain relief. My pain threshold is quite high and keeping on top of it actually really helped. My scar healed nicely and having a supportive partner helps.
I was able to walk around the house okay, been able to do normal things but in a slower pace the first week then after that slowly back to normal. I tried going out for a walk around 1 or 2 weeks post CS. It was painful and a lot so I headed back home. It was probs around 50 yards from my front door 😅 the body just needs to heal as it’s a big surgery. Plus I had a winter baby so I was happy to stay inside 😂
Whatever you choose is the right choice. Don’t ever doubt yourself because of other people’s experiences. Your body, your decision 🥰

I was so scared of having a c section and wanted to avoid one at all costs. I had an emergency section, and honestly it wasn’t bad. Recovery was fine. Now considering trying for VBAC or elective, my main worry is not being able to lift my 2 year old and him not understanding 😭
So I am 16 weeks and 5 days now and I want to try to prepare myself for what's to come. I have had mixed reactions to the idea of watching child birth docs/TV shows such as one born every minute. What do people think? I have never seen the show before myself, Will this be helpful or am I going to scare myself? 😂😂

I’ve got a small fibroid but even though it’s small the consultant still recommended I don’t home birth. The home birth team don’t seam concerned and are still happy for me to go ahead…. it’s higher risk of haemorrhaging but after doing research I can actively manage this by getting the placenta out straight away… I’m not worried, if I have to go to hospital so be it ,but I’d rather try to continue with a home birth as planned. Anyone else have any experience with this?

Baby has been engaged at every scan from 28 weeks, last one at 36 weeks and was 3/5 engaged!
Last night I fet baby move and im sure theyve turned breach, whole bottom of my stomach feels empty, kicks feel like they're in my lower tummy and rock hard under my ribs.
I have another growth scan tomorrow and was scheduled for a sweep straight after but I dont think that will go ahead now.
Can baby be turned this far along still?
Absolutely petrified of the thought of a cesarean, (i actually passed out at them just describing one when I went to labour classes with my first born)
