I need help

Okay mamas I’m in desperate need of some guidance or help PLEASE!! My son is 2 years old and for the past 2 almost 3 months it’s been almost IMPOSSIBLE to get him to go to bed. I play with him all day everyday whether it be outside or inside and us running through the house, no naps during the day, no sugary drinks or snacks during the day or even before bedtime, I’ve tried everything kids melatonin, night time remedies, letting him watch his favorite show before bed, reading to him, lullabies, cuddles, and nothing seems to work. At night if he isn’t happy about going to bed he will BUST down the door and I mean that literally he has put a hole in the door from hitting it so hard with his butt, he’s also bent the hinges, I have no idea what to do anymore. I’m at a loss. Please mamas. Anything will help.!!!!

Maybe he wasn’t ready to cut his nap? My son didn’t get his cut until he was 2.5 and closer to 3 xxx

My son was the same didn't want to sleep he is a night person! So I started waking him up at the same time everyday and bathed him at the same time every night, i put Epsom salt and magnesium in his bath water and did a wind down routine that was the same every night so he started to recognise its sleepy time and it got him relaxed and we read a book or quiet play then lay in bed and he starting dosing off. Also alot of running and activities during the day, I make him do laps around the park and around the block and found this also helped him sleep better 😊 it takes a little time for them to get into the habit but once they are in the routine you'll see change xx hope it helps!

My son (now almost 5) was like this at that age. Nothing seemed to work. We started using the hatch light so he at least knew he had to stay in his bed, even if he didn’t go straight to sleep. I swear, it did WONDERS. He no longer gets up out of bed and stays there until we turn the light green (you can pick different colors for the lights) the next morning. At first we would reward him each morning he stayed in bed overnight until now it’s just become the norm. Hope this helps! 💙

Okay I just realized I commented on May 2023 😵‍💫. My second son (May 2023) also uses a hatch light and it works! We started about a month ago and it has kept him in his room (like his older brother who will be 5 soon).

I’m right there with you and have been for over six months now. It’s gotten to the point where now after our bedtime routine and a couple of books I put him in the car and drive him for 15 to 20 minutes so he falls asleep in the car that way. It’s less than ideal, but it’s better than the hour and a half (or longer) bedtime battle that we had been facing for months now. We have tried herbal tinctures, magnesium balm, oral magnesium glycinate, magnesium flakes in his bathtub, getting energy out prior to bedtime, etc.. and nothing has helped. He’s very high energy. We tried taking out his nap, but it was just even more intense meltdowns or him falling asleep on the couch at 5-6 PM or half the time he wouldn’t eat dinner because he was just so regulated and overtired so that hardly seemed worth it. We did bring our naps back in and just give them a cut off so he’s only sleeping maybe an hour. I feel like the temperament has been better with the nap added back in but again we are still

Co sleeping

Maybe I’m being dumb but I don’t understand the concept of co sleeping for those of you who do it when baby doesn’t stay down in their cot. Am I missing the point or is there no difference in the two? I put my baby down in the bed the same way I put her in her cot. Am I doing it wrong? She wakes up and cries and doesn’t want to stay down. She wants to be held. I’ve tried to hold her, lie down and the roll over so she still thinks I’m holding her, but there’s too much movement and she wakes up regardless of co sleeping. Do other mums hold their babies or cuddle them when co sleeping? From the lullaby trust I can see that the baby is not being held in any way, so I can’t understand how I’m supposed to sleep if my baby doesn’t want to be put down even when co sleeping..

Am i a bad mom for not wanting another baby?

I always wanted 3 children, close in age too.
I have a 1 year old and oh my god I love her to absolute death, but motherhood is not what I thought it would be and it’s made me not want more children.
Every time she has a bad night, I tell myself I’m closer to not having this anymore.
Every time she’s teething, I tell myself we’re closer to not teething again.
I’m constantly worrying about her milestones as she’s behind, it’s making me sick with worry and it makes me so sad that I’m wishing this time away just so I can see her reach these milestones to see that she’s okay.
The thought of going through this all again gives me such anxiety, that for my health I can’t do it, but I know that makes me really really selfish as my partner wants another along with her moms wanting more grandchildren.
Will this feeling pass? Am I making the right decision only being 1 and done? Please tell me your thoughts. Thank you

Evening cluster feeding 🙃

Little one is 3 weeks old tomorrow and from about 5pm onwards he wants to feed every 45 mins to 1 hour! Which is right when we’re doing dinner, bath and bed with my eldest 🙈

Thankfully this seems to stop at 10/11pm and he does 3(ish) hour stretches overnight but it feels like I barely have chance to put him down before he wants the boob again.

I don’t remember my eldest ever going through a cluster feeding stage. Anyone else dealing with the same?

Mantras getting me through month 4 with my previously amazing sleeper 🥹

As most of us are currently going through it with sleep, i thought I’d share the things I’m telling myself at 4 in the morning when she is frantically thrashing around trying to connect her sleep cycles.

“Despite what people call it, this is not a regression. She is not going backwards, she is learning something new.”

“She is a baby doing baby things - sometimes they don’t make sense”

“Her brain is going through a massive change. Regardless of how tired I am, she is building something that will stay with her for life.”

“I can only help give her the foundations to get through this, this is something she will learn for herself, in her own time.“

“I am lucky that get to be here to watch her learn this new skill.”

“I will sleep again.” (Probably the most important one)

I know I’m finding this period tough, because before now we had a baby who only woke once during the night. These are nice reminders I repeat to myself when I’m tired (and awake at 3:45). I hope they might be useful to someone else in the same position.

Bedside Crib / Cot

What is everyone using once little one grows out of the next to me bedside crib (so hands are touching the sides, slowly reaching the max weight ect) are you going straight to the main huge cot or an inbetween? Our cot is so huge and turns into a bed eventually but I didn’t want to move it into our bedroom from the other room just yet but might need to.
Any recommendations?
