As most of us are currently going through it with sleep, i thought Iād share the things Iām telling myself at 4 in the morning when she is frantically thrashing around trying to connect her sleep cycles.
āDespite what people call it, this is not a regression. She is not going backwards, she is learning something new.ā
āShe is a baby doing baby things - sometimes they donāt make senseā
āHer brain is going through a massive change. Regardless of how tired I am, she is building something that will stay with her for life.ā
āI can only help give her the foundations to get through this, this is something she will learn for herself, in her own time.ā
āI am lucky that get to be here to watch her learn this new skill.ā
āI will sleep again.ā (Probably the most important one)
I know Iām finding this period tough, because before now we had a baby who only woke once during the night. These are nice reminders I repeat to myself when Iām tired (and awake at 3:45). I hope they might be useful to someone else in the same position.

Maybe Iām being dumb but I donāt understand the concept of co sleeping for those of you who do it when baby doesnāt stay down in their cot. Am I missing the point or is there no difference in the two? I put my baby down in the bed the same way I put her in her cot. Am I doing it wrong? She wakes up and cries and doesnāt want to stay down. She wants to be held. Iāve tried to hold her, lie down and the roll over so she still thinks Iām holding her, but thereās too much movement and she wakes up regardless of co sleeping. Do other mums hold their babies or cuddle them when co sleeping? From the lullaby trust I can see that the baby is not being held in any way, so I canāt understand how Iām supposed to sleep if my baby doesnāt want to be put down even when co sleeping..

Iāve got a 4 week year old and since birth, they donāt like sleeping in their own next to me crib or even on my bed and if so, it can sometimes last a few minutes when I put them down š
Baby only sleeps if on me or their dad. Any tips to get baby to sleep on crib/ bed without waking up after 5 minutes š

My little girl used to sleep really well, sheād go down around 7pm and wake once for a feed normally around 4am then sleep till 7am. I have no idea what is going on at the moment but she is awful and Iām feeling so sleep deprived itās starting to get me down.
She wonāt settle now when she goes down, sheās on and off crying and whinging constantly and has been needing a feed around 12am and even then doesnāt sleep very well after, I just canāt work out whatās going on š¤Æš¤Æ Is anyone elseās little one doing this? š¤¦āāļø I have no help during the day, she has been napping for 15 mins maximum in the day time and I also have a 3 year old to occupy so Iām just dying for some decent sleep.
