I’ve got a 4 week year old and since birth, they don’t like sleeping in their own next to me crib or even on my bed and if so, it can sometimes last a few minutes when I put them down 😭
Baby only sleeps if on me or their dad. Any tips to get baby to sleep on crib/ bed without waking up after 5 minutes 😭

Mine was like this at first but you just have to be patient. They have only known you and your scent and warmth so its quite a big difference. I put one of my pj tops i had worn on his bed like as the bedsheet kinda thing to help him smell me. But honestly its just patience at the moment whilst they adjust to life on the outside. Also putting them in during the day can help them get used to it

It’s not exactly what you asked for but you should look up safe chest sleeping! It is a phase and most babies grow out of it with time and you keeping trying. Chest sleeping is a form of co sleeping that works well with very young babies. Keep trying their sleep space maybe once or twice a day. Sleeping with the crib sheet under your shirt or pillow for a day or two could help them feel comforted by your scent too!

Have you tried putting them to sleep in the bassinet of the pram? That’s the only place our wee boy will sleep at night, it’s much smaller and cosier than the next to me. Or if you have one the midwife suggested to me to put the Moses basket in the next to me but we don’t have one. Also a swaddle wrap made a huge difference to how long our son will sleep, he was usually waking himself up with his startle reflex!

No advice but we are in exactly the same boat! It’s sooo hard surviving on so little sleep so sending lots of love to you!! We’ve tried hot water bottle in bed before he goes in, my top in there, feeding to sleep, rocking to sleep and he just wants us bless him, trying to remember it’s a phase but so so hard and I’m there with you! Xxx

We changed from the next to me to moses as she was the same. She would sleep on me until she's flat out then move her across x
Maybe I’m being dumb but I don’t understand the concept of co sleeping for those of you who do it when baby doesn’t stay down in their cot. Am I missing the point or is there no difference in the two? I put my baby down in the bed the same way I put her in her cot. Am I doing it wrong? She wakes up and cries and doesn’t want to stay down. She wants to be held. I’ve tried to hold her, lie down and the roll over so she still thinks I’m holding her, but there’s too much movement and she wakes up regardless of co sleeping. Do other mums hold their babies or cuddle them when co sleeping? From the lullaby trust I can see that the baby is not being held in any way, so I can’t understand how I’m supposed to sleep if my baby doesn’t want to be put down even when co sleeping..

As most of us are currently going through it with sleep, i thought I’d share the things I’m telling myself at 4 in the morning when she is frantically thrashing around trying to connect her sleep cycles.
“Despite what people call it, this is not a regression. She is not going backwards, she is learning something new.”
“She is a baby doing baby things - sometimes they don’t make sense”
“Her brain is going through a massive change. Regardless of how tired I am, she is building something that will stay with her for life.”
“I can only help give her the foundations to get through this, this is something she will learn for herself, in her own time.“
“I am lucky that get to be here to watch her learn this new skill.”
“I will sleep again.” (Probably the most important one)
I know I’m finding this period tough, because before now we had a baby who only woke once during the night. These are nice reminders I repeat to myself when I’m tired (and awake at 3:45). I hope they might be useful to someone else in the same position.

Hey everyone! Has anyone’s babies started to struggle to sleep?? My girl has turned 3 months old today and usually she will sleep from 8:30pm until 4:00/5:00am and now we are going from 8:30pm until 12:00/1:00am and then up every half an hour until 5:00/6:00am and it’s a struggle!! Any advice at all??? 💞

My little girl used to sleep really well, she’d go down around 7pm and wake once for a feed normally around 4am then sleep till 7am. I have no idea what is going on at the moment but she is awful and I’m feeling so sleep deprived it’s starting to get me down.
She won’t settle now when she goes down, she’s on and off crying and whinging constantly and has been needing a feed around 12am and even then doesn’t sleep very well after, I just can’t work out what’s going on 🤯🤯 Is anyone else’s little one doing this? 🤦♀️ I have no help during the day, she has been napping for 15 mins maximum in the day time and I also have a 3 year old to occupy so I’m just dying for some decent sleep.
