Tour ?

Does anyone know if the hospital lets you tour l&d before having your baby? So about two weeks ago the hospital I will be delivering at, I had to take my grandmother to the emergency part. So many hippa violations were happening and I’m absolutely terrified now to delivery my daughter here. And this is the only hospital my doctor delivers at

Mine allowed and welcomes tours. I am delivering at a different hospital than my first two children and they encouraged them as well. You could always just call their department and ask.

Labor signs?

Did you notice any signs or anything before labor started?

I’m 39 weeks and a day and I’ve had the runs with everything I eat and felt a bit sick yesterday. Really hoping things kick off naturally and I don’t need to be induced. I’m a first time mom so not a clue what to expect.

I feel like I’ve been losing my mucus plug for weeks so don’t think that will be a sign unless it becomes a bit bloody.

Is it right that your waters don’t have to go first and you can just start with contractions?

I thought I would share it for anyone curious as to what their little bean may look like! ❤️

Elective c-sections

Hello!

My first birth ended up in an emergency c section and this time round I have opted for an elective c-section.

What is everyone packing in their hospital bags? And how did you make it easier for you whilst you were in hospital?

Should I call triage for nausea and diarrhea?

At what point would you call triage for feeling generally unwell with nausea, diarrhea and stomach ache/cramps? If you would call them at all?

I'm 36+4 and just feel so rubbish the last few days. I'm nauseous and have had on/off diarrhea and I've got indigestion/heartburn too. It's making me completely lose my appetite and I'm not eating much. My stomach aches but I can't even tell if it's stomach ache, indigestion pain, hunger, muscular aches from general weight of the bump or aches/cramps from tightenings which I am also getting. My back aches too but I think that is probably muscular, and my bump is sometimes tender to the touch in random patches.

I don't know if I should get checked or not? I don't have any way to contact my midwife between appointments so it's call triage at the hospital or wait it out.
