Watford hospital or Luton Hospital which one is the best?

I am 9 weeks pregnant and watford was só fast booking me my first appointment and then I have decided Luton which took more than a month after referral and a lot of calls from me to book me in for my first appointment. Not feeling great about Luton 😩

I went for Watford, but my friend is going with L&D. Watford have been very quick with appointments as L&D have a different system for people out of borough - they put appointments on weekends I think so it can take longer. I have heard good things about l&d, but I've decided to stick with Watford at the moment (mainly because I feel like communication has been good)

I was with Watford and they were really good overall. I got appointments pretty quickly and was seen very regularly ( I had a complicated pregnancy). Even post C Section aftercare was really good too. I haven't heard much about Luton so cant comment, sorry.

I’d go with Watford purely because it’s the same NHS trust as your primary care (I’m guessing Hemel is West Herts). I chose a hospital nearby but outside of my local trust and the systems are not connected and I have all my records on paper only 😵‍💫

I’ve been trying to figure out differences between Watford and Lister (Stevenage). Heard something about one having en suite rooms and the other didn’t - anyone here with experience from Watford?

I just came across this post as i’m looking locally atm too. Luton maternity has been rated as inadequate by the quality care commission and i haven’t heard great things. You can look online at their report and hopefully that will give you some more info to make an informed decision. Hope this helps!

One more thing to point out is that Watford are offering participation in the genomics study (lister doesn’t, not sure about Luton) which will test your baby for 200+ conditions. This is ultimately why I went with them. That said, I had most of my antenatal care at lister until now and it’s been very positive.

Baby stopped moving

I am 39 weeks today and had my last scan this morning and it’s all good. Tonight I’ve noticed for the last hour or so no moving. I’m really scared cos usually he moves all day and night especially at night to the point I can’t sleep. I don’t know if I should wait or go if it’s only been around a hours time?
It says online not to prod and poke or have water cos it won’t mean anything I am sat in bed watching it but I really don’t know what to do!!
My tummy is just completely still. I was and have had Brixton hicks for ages and right now my tummy is rock hard but just nothing moving

C- section recovery...

Hi mummas,
I had an emergency C-section 15 weeks ago. I haven't had much rest, and as a single mum, I’ve been completely on my own since August caring for my little one and my 14-year-old beagle.
The thing is... the external scar has healed completely, but I’m not sure about the internal ones. I still have pain and discomfort in the area. If I touch the scar or my belly around it, it hurts, and the skin feels weird—kind of half-numb. I can only wear "grandma" knickers because anything else presses on the scar and hurts.
Is this going to be like this forever? Has anyone experienced the same? Should I be doing something about it?
I was really shocked that my 6-week postnatal appointment was completely useless. The doctor didn’t check me or ask about my C-section recovery at all—the only thing they asked about was contraception! It was horrible. I really need some advice please...
Also, I feel like this body isn't mine anymore. At the beginning I didn't care much, but now I feel like my abdomen will always be big and "horrible," and it's getting me down. I mean, I'm very protective of my body because it created life! But at the same time... I feel ugly 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

Baby name for a boy

So we were meditating on the name Philip for a boy…

My husband is a PhD in philosophy, so he loves it. I thought of the name, Phillip because my auntie was yelling at me to “take my pills.” … I don’t know about the negative connotations…

Holding head up

Hii, I just maybe need some reassurance. My baby turned 3 months today and he’s still not able to hold his head up confidently like it’s still wobbly at times and I still can’t hold him up for a long time without putting my hand on his back. He can hold his head up just not for long does this make sense? And is this normal 🙈

Hip Pain

Does anyone have any suggestions for hip pain relief? Ive seen a physio and she said my hip is just very tight and sore. So apparently a belt won't help. it's getting to the point it's waking me in the night on both sides, although definitely worse on my left side. I do sleep with a pregnancy pillow between my knees as well. any advice would be amazing. How on earth am I going to make it another 10 weeks 😰
