I’m suffering with ppd. Depression, anxiety, rage, I have it all but not all the time. I have good days and bad days. I made a doctor’s appointment for it but I have a question. For mom’s who had doctors prescribe anti depressants, can you explain to me the point? I mean not the point but it takes 6-8 weeks for them to work, so do we just suffer until they work? I also would hope within 6-8 weeks I’d be feeling better on my own. Is there something other than antidepressants they can give you that you can take when you are feeling the rage/anxiety come on? Like , Xanax, Ativan, stuff like that. I understand it could be addicting but why wouldn’t they give that for say a month, and then after that if you don’t feel better decide you need longer term care and switch to an antidepressant?

Pharmacist here. You should start experiencing some benefits within 2 weeks, but the “full effect” can take longer. You can also increase/adjust doses within that timeframe. SSRIs are safer than benzodiazepines (like Xanax) from a side effect perspective. People sometimes take a regular maintenance SSRI and an as needed benzodiazepine if, for example, they are having a panic attack and need a fast acting calming medication.
As someone who takes Zoloft (sertraline) for PPA/PPD I can tell you it has been life changing for me coping with the newborn stage.
Hey everyone, looking for advice on navigating some tough stepfamily dynamics.
My partner and I have been together for a while. There was a lot of drama with his ex at the beginning, so the kids didn't like me initially. I get why the transition was hard, but we're running into a wall now that I gave birth.
The 12-year-old daughter has been super moody and upset about the pregnancy, especially stressing over whether it's a girl (we waited till I gave birth to find out the gender). On a recent FaceTime (which included the ex and the 17yo son), she literally sat in the background the whole time texting, ignoring us completely.
It really unsettled me especially the thought of her resentment if I had a daughter. I gave birth to a baby boy but still.
How do you guys handle stepkids who are openly resentful about a new baby, and how do you set boundaries with FaceTime calls when the ex is involved? Any advice is appreciated!

My LO is 9 weeks, since last week he suddenly only wants me. He used to take a bottle ebm from my husband and be soothed by my dad/brother — now he refuses both and only calms when I hold him. Contact naps only, cries when put down.
Don’t get me wrong , i love him so much but sometimes need to step away 🥲😥 my back is killing me from holding him all day and sometimes I just need to function.— and right now I can't, because he won't settle for anyone else. My husband used to offer one bottle of ebm per day so that i can get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep but now that’s also impossible
Is this a phase? Will appreciate any tips

Last night was one of the most frightening and emotionally overwhelming nights I’ve experienced in a long time, and I’m honestly not sure what to do.

I feel absolutely insane but I'm nervous to take my almost 4 month old out shopping with me lol. I was hoping he'd be able to sit in the cart so I don't have to bring in the car seat. Should I just put him in a baby wearing carrier? Why do I feel like I'm making a bigger deal out of this than it should be 😂

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for maternity bras for big boobs. Not necessarily needing breastfeeding friendly, but something comfortable and soft with support.
I am 9 weeks pregnant and my boobs already are spilling out of my current bras and they are soooo heavy and sore.
I'm a 36G normally but will need to go up 🙃 (genuinely thought they couldn't get any bigger 😂😂)
