Responding to Cravings

Hi everybody! I’m on a health journey and struggling with cravings. Often, the situation is that I’m emotionally stressed and craving what I think of as comfort food, which is mostly really-high-sugar stuff (eg soda, cookies, etc). I want to get in the habit of choosing other ways to respond to that stress and those cravings, but I’m having a hard time coming up with ideas. So, what works for you guys?

Hey I am the same especially around that time of the month where I want to eat everything in sight. What I would say that works for me is I have a piece of fruit for the sugar cravings then a little square of chocolate or something everything is ok in moderation. Hoe that helps x

As above. Have a glass of water, a peices of fruit like an apple bur also look at specific what tou are craving like if you crave chocolate your probably low in magnesium. I went through about 6 months of craving broccoli, turns out I was low in iron. Your body knows when its lacking something and will turn it into a craving to make sure you boost that thing you're lacking. You could always take a walk or do exercise instead of reaching for the sweet draw

Typically if you have a lot of cravings like this your body is looking for a quick fix in nutrients and unfortunately it makes us turn to unhealthy things. By prioritising high fibre and protein with every meal you can help curb these things or if you want the cookie have something like a Greek yogurt bowl on the side with fruit and a small portion of the cookie to trick your brain and will stop you overeating

Things i noticed helping….
Drinking plenty water
Taking food grade or liquid vitamin… helps mental mood and physical energy
Also PROTEIN shakes… owyn cookies and cream. Taste like chocolate milk and full lr protein and will take away craving.
Also, tea. I will do a hot cup of tea if im emotionally charged and a devotion from online.

I know this is wild. But I’ve not tried it yet. I asked ai. If you realize when you’re stress eating ai said to try to eat high protein before that time as well as take a personal few minutes to one’s self before that time. It helps reset. I myself has to try this

C SECTION SHELF!!!

Hi girls, I had an emergency c section 7 months ago, and I still have a shelf. I am 50 kilos & 5ft1 so I know for a fact I am not over weight. I train 6 days a week, I walk minimum 10k steps a day, I drink lots of water I count my calories and have a good protein intake, I do daily scar massages and I STILL have a shelf. I want to know if anyone has ever been lean and still had a shelf ???? I don’t know if this is something I have to have surgery to get rid of, I cannot find anyone’s body type online the same as mine 😭
It’s not just a small bump either it’s a proper shelf it sticks out maybe 2.5cm standing side on, it’s not hard it’s squishy so I just don’t understand

Pee’d myself or water broke?

I’m seriously so unsure on if my water broke or not. I had a bad “I need to pee feeling” as I was bending down to grab a trash bag and when I got back up I felt like I tinkled myself a little and then I was like oo yeah I gotta go. Before I know it, I can’t stop and it keeps coming. I feel like it really could have been that I thought about it too much and a little coming out made me want to pee more but this is my 2nd pregnancy and my water did not break the 1st time so I’m unsure and now stressing out. It happened like 40 minutes ago and I haven’t had any more “fluid” since then. I also could not tell the color as I was wearing black pants but it did smell like mainly urine

Anyone tired of being pregnant?

I am 34 weeks and 4 days today and I have reached the point where I am so constantly uncomfortable that I sometimes tell myself I wouldn't mind it if baby came early. Obviously I don't actually want that, as I know she's still very thriving in there, but between the sleepless spells and the constant back and pelvic pain I do find myself wishing and hoping for time to go faster 🥲

8 weeks 2 day scan!

Can’t believe how much my baby looked like a baby at my private scan! 8 weeks 2 days via abdominal ultrasound. Got an nhs scan tomorrow due to HG, hoping they’re still cooking away nicely. After two miscarriages this year it’s the first time I’ve got to see a heart beat❤️🙏

20wk ultrasound tomorrow

First time mum and have my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow!
Very excited I get to see my baby boy again!
How long will the appointment last?

Also I understand this is likely to be my last NHS ultrasound which feels so crazy because it is only half way through pregnancy!

Wondering if it is worth getting a private ultrasound later on?

Birthday Party Awkwardness

So I just went to a kid's birthday party with my little one today, and I felt like I was sooooo awkward. I didn't really know anyone, and spent most of my time focusing on my baby. I just feel like I struggle so much to "act natural" in social situations, especially in large group settings. My fear is that I'll somehow pass my awkwardness to my kid. Any other mamas out there feel this way?
