Would welcome thoughts and advise on whether to start using a pacifier for our 3.5 month old little one. He’s been using his hands to soothe for the last few weeks and has recently found his voice. What are the pros and cons of using one and at what age. And which pacifiers would you suggest? 🙏🏻

My LO only started taking them around that age as she had a tongue tie that wasn’t cut until then 🤦♀️ it did help her soothe to sleep and she’s 17 months now and still has it, she’ll give it to me when she doesn’t want it (sometimes) but all I’ll say is don’t let them have it for too long otherwise it’ll be a nightmare to get rid of it. It can slow speech and I’m pretty sure it can mess with teeth 🤷♀️ I’m going to try and get rid by the time she’s 2 in September. She takes Tommee tippee ones as these worked best for her, she drinks from those bottles I don’t know if the teats are the same and that’s why 🤷♀️ but we tried mam and Amazon ones too but they didn’t work for her so it may be that your LO doesn’t take one brand but will take to another if you do try to use them. I’ve got a 4 week old and she’s never taken to a dummy and I’m not sure I’ll use them with her unless it’s a last resort

My baby hates them, she’s 14 weeks and she soothes herself with hands but does a terrible job at doing so since it takes her a while to soothe herself with hands…. She will take a binky sometimes when she’s extra tired but I would have to hold it in place or else it’ll fly out in seconds. She gets soothed by binky so much faster but won’t keep it in on her own. Idk if she just doesn’t know how to use it? But at night I’ll give her a binky and it’s soooooo much work to sit there and hold if in place, it feels like forever. She also only takes “nuk” brand, I’ve tried so many, this is the only one she’ll tolerate

I wouldn't personally. I didn't use a pacifier at first, i tried it and she didn't want to use it anyway. Shes 10 months now and we got through without using one. They use their hands for a short period of time but its more so exploration than anything. My daughter now doesnt suck on her thumbs or anything and doesnt use a pacifier. Meanwhile theres kids in her play class that use pacifier and they are like 18 months already. Its a hard habit to break and not great for their jaw/teeth development.

If you do, try the MAM pacifiers. Comfort 2 for 3-12 month olds. I swear by this brand. My 5 week old will not take any other brand.
Yesterday was the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life. I had to put down my sweet Babygirl. She was 14 and was diagnosed with cancer a couple of weeks ago. We tried steriods but that didn't help. She declined fast and yesterday she kept peeing on herself while sleeping. She wasn't able to stand and was very weak. I feel so guilty. I feel as if I should have done more for her. Fight for her to live longer. I dont know if I did the right thing. I dont know if she knew it was her time. Im so heartbroken and shattered.

Controversial one and I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I miss daughter waking up in the night. She’s always been a 6:30-7:30pm to bed kinda baby. But she’d wake up twice a night.
However all of a sudden she’s started sleeping through but the catch is she goes to sleep after 9pm. By the time we’ve put her to bed and go ourselves sorted there isn’t much of an evening left to spend with my husband.
We used to cook together and watch films or box sets and chat. It’s done wonder for keeping our love life going as we’ve navigated becoming parents. But now we almost don’t have any down time together.
We get up around 6:15am for our jobs so it’s not realistic for us to be staying up much later.
Has anyone else experienced similar?

My little girl will be 15 months on the 10th, the past week or so she has been constantly clingy more than normal! She’s also having complete meltdowns whenever she is told no and when she can’t do what she wants to do it results in her crying and throwing herself backwards! I honestly thought this age would be easier but boy was I wrong😂 She’s always been such a happy baby but just lately it feels like she’s constantly aggy and I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel😩 I think a lot of it is also frustration because she’s really trying to talk and when it comes to meals she’s wanting to feed herself and not have any help at all so I don’t know if it’s another developmental leap or what but please tell me I’m not alone and it does get better? Mum guilt is so real at the moment as she acts like that but then is really loving and sweet which makes me feel awful for feeling in the trenches and like I’m just wishing this time away for it to get better again!😔

I have milk, my baby nurses fine, but I have had enough and I am happy about feeding with formula and baby is happy to drink from a bottle too, but I cannot help with feeling guilty and the internal voice keeps telling me to keep going for a little longer. Any advice?

Hi mums! My baby is almost 7 months old and we started solids at 6 months. She hasn't had a proper poo in 5 days, just one small, very hard stool yesterday.
I called the GP and they just said to do exercises and keep her hydrated. We’ve been doing bicycle legs and tummy massages, and I’ve even gone back to exclusively breastfeeding for the last two days. I’ve also tried prune and pear purees for the last two days but still nothing.
Has anyone else gone through this right after starting solids? Any tips to help her pass it? She seems so uncomfortable!

My little girl is 15 weeks and for the last 3ish weeks has been fighting every day time nap, and bedtime.
She doesn’t have strict wake windows and I just follow her sleepy cues, which are usually rubbing eyes, yawning, and staring into space. When she gets to this point I will give her her dummy to soothe into sleep, but she resists it to the point I have to rock her whilst she screams for 20 minutes before finally falling asleep.
She only wakes twice in the night around 1:30 for a feed and again at 6:30.
Is there a way to stop this or will she just naturally learn to fall asleep peacefully one day? 😂
