Hey has anyone else been classed as a high risk pregnancy and had zero support from the midwives at Milton Keynes Hospital?
I’ve been classed as high risk and now 28 weeks but they’ve given me no bump growth checks, no Doppler checks, only had 2 urine checks, but I’m also under the antenatal consultants who asked me a few questions at 18 weeks and then did my glucose test. Luckily I know how to check my own bump size and have the urine test sticks at home to check my levels.
Considering I have a history of miscarriages and had an ectopic pregnancy December of 2024 I thought they would have been more cautious to check baby and me.
I’m actually now really considering a home birth as I’ve got no faith in them at all.

If you’ve been classed as high risk you really should be getting closer monitoring. I actually had a similar experience where my midwife wasn’t even checking my urine at appointments which worried me so I ended up changing midwives and felt much more supported after that. Sometimes you really have to advocate for yourself with the NHS. I would recommend contacting maternity triage and asking for a review and to get booked in for growth scan especially with your history of miscarriages and an ectopic. You can also ask to see a different midwife or consultant if you feel you’re not being supported.
From what I’ve seen though once you’re actually in hospital and giving birth they do support you and take good care of you. A home birth might not be the safest option if you’re high risk, so it’s definitely worth pushing them for the care you deserve beforehand
