Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

I also have a 3 week old daughter and I am exclusively breastfeeding. My partner changes all her nappies at night, and then sometimes if I’m struggling to settle her down he takes over and I go back to sleep. We have a toddler aswell though so I let him sleep more as he’s in charge of chasing the toddler round 😆

same here

Im on week 7 of doing it alone. Ive even moved out of the bedroom to leave him with the toddler as we still co sleep, i felt so much rage with him snoring away while i was up all night. Im just getting to the point of having more than an hour sleep at a time. Its been a rough few weeks. With our first I used to hand her off to him as soon as I was done feeding for him to do nappies and burping but with a toddler in the room its not worth it.

Have you tried side lying to feed so you can get some rest through the night while feeding?

We do shifts so my partner will stay up with our 5 week old until around midnight and give a bottle of either formula or breast milk. This way I can go to bed at 9 x

Week 6 here and also not pumping. How often are you getting up to feed at night? It was every 2 hours for us until we hit 4 weeks. Nowadays only once around 3/4am, unless you count 6/7am as part of your night
Honestly you’ll just get used to it over time. My husband generally stays up later than I do so he will do the nappy change at midnight/1am, then I’ll feed and nappy change 3x until we’re both fully awake for the day (after 9am)

I’m exclusively bf our 4 week old and tbh I would just rather he slept and was a bit more “with it”.
He works 14 hour days so really he needs to be resting. But he does do the school run in the morning and will take the baby after her first feed in the morning so I can grab an extra hour or two before he starts work. When he gets home late at night, he’ll change her nappy and get her ready for her next feed. (We’re normally asleep when he comes home and it lines up quite well with her feeding times)

Helping at either end makes a big difference! If baby is awake when I want to sleep then he’ll take him downstairs and rock him to sleep, then in the morning he’ll take him after first feed for nappy change etc so I can catch up on a few hours at either end. He also sleeps in the toddlers bed half the night.
When did you first drive with just your baby in the back? I've got the full safe setup installed but I am still nervous to drive anywhere alone yet. My baby is 5 weeks old on Friday and there's a bf support group I want to attend but it's too far to walk there :(
When my husband drives I am in the back with my son, holding his head when there are sharp turns and potholes because he is still a bit too small for the car seat to be holding his head in place (apparently this is normal and still fine but it worries me!)

I'm 10 weeks postpartum and went to the doctor yesterday for our Mother and Baby check. When it got to me, the doctor said "can you lift up your stomach so I can see the scar" 🤣😭
...loool the way a little bit of me died inside. It's barely even an overhang and my stomach has healed really well! There's no flap. I found it funny but also a bit of a gut punch because it's taken me all 10 weeks to adjust to my new body, appreciate it for all it's done, given me, and start to accept/like it again. Any new mums had similar scenarios or finding it a struggle to adapt to liking your new mum body post C section?

Hi everyone, I’m needing some help with pram/travel system recommendations. We won’t be able to get a new car before baby arrives and it’s quite small! We have a Mini Cooper, so boot space is limited at the best of times. I’m after a pram where the bassinet is foldable too to take up as little space as possible because we ALSO have a dog that will sometimes be out with us and baby.
I’ve been looking at the dragonfly, cove 2 and upline 3 but I just wondered if anyone else has any recommendations.
Thank you ☺️

Obviously you’re meant to wait at least 6 weeks after giving birth but is it still safe to do it before the 6 weeks?

Posting as incognito as I don’t want to feel judged! I’ve tried getting hold of my health visitor but she never answers the phone.
My little boy is 13 weeks old and is breast fed, he won’t take to dummies or anything like that.
Since around maybe 11 weeks he has point blank refused to sleep in his next to me (he’s not been too much of a fan sleeping by himself in his own bed since birth but would sleep in there for a good 5 hours) at night time so for 2 weeks I’ve only been able to get him to sleep in bed next to me on the boob, now he also has not been able to sleep without boob in his mouth and if I move an inch or even go for a wee he kicks off immediately (he just wants to be on my boob throughout the whole night) nothing myself or my partner has tried has worked, I’ve tried pumping and giving him a bottle before bed but that made everything 10x worse to the point he refused to sleep for 4 hours. I’ve even tried leaving the room so my partner can try patting him off/ cuddling him but my boy screams to the top of his lungs until I come back and then he’s fine. He also sleeps absolutely fine during his naps too with the occasional fighting his nap time.
He’s had a sleep regression at 12 weeks and is now out of that sleep regression and is also teething but I just genuinely don’t understand why he’s is like this now! I honestly feel like a prisoner in/ tied down to my own bed at night and I’m also starting to dread bed time as I’m not getting a full nights sleep from where he’s stirring looking for my boob constantly/ looking to make sure I’m still there and where my body won’t let me be in a deep sleep where he’s sleeping next to me.
It’s genuinely getting to the point where I’m feeling down and emotional all the time and where I’m not sleeping properly I’m a lot more snappy with my partner/ others than usual.

Hey just wanted to check if it’s normal to be leaking a small amount of milk at 27 weeks? This is my second baby and my milk didn’t come in with my first until around 36 weeks🫣
