Accepting my new Mum bod post surgery

I'm 10 weeks postpartum and went to the doctor yesterday for our Mother and Baby check. When it got to me, the doctor said "can you lift up your stomach so I can see the scar" 🤣😭
...loool the way a little bit of me died inside. It's barely even an overhang and my stomach has healed really well! There's no flap. I found it funny but also a bit of a gut punch because it's taken me all 10 weeks to adjust to my new body, appreciate it for all it's done, given me, and start to accept/like it again. Any new mums had similar scenarios or finding it a struggle to adapt to liking your new mum body post C section?

Wow - all the tact of a thrown brick 😂
My midwife called my tummy the built in baby pillow - and it helped me to frame it as that. Now at a year I’m back to my normal weight and I have no protection at all for my poor kidneys and organs when the full weight of my toddler steps on them 😅

Ngl I would have sobbed if they said that to me at that point🫣 it took me a good while to accept it but then one day my son decided that when my belly juggles it’s the funniest thing he’s ever seen, so he’ll come up and squish it🤣 then I got all sentimental that he was playing with his first ‘home’😂😂

Working Mums - Help!

I work 3 days a week, in which my daughter goes to nursery. My partner leaves for work at 5am, so the whole process of getting up, ready and out the house is all on me. I only have a 15 month old but i’m struggling so much to be able to get myself ready and keep her distracted. How are we all managing this?

She’s into everything and in that stage where I can’t take my eyes off her, which makes it even impossible to brush my teeth.

She’s not predictable with her wakes, especially at the min as we’re going through an awful sleep regression, some days she wakes at 4am others 6am so trying to get up and ready before her isn’t really possible.

I don’t allow a lot of screen time and because of this she doesn’t really sit in front of the tv as i’ve tried this also.

Any help appreciated 😅

High chair recommendations

What highchair would you recommend? I don’t want to do ikea as don’t want to buy the extra parts. I want it to be easy wipe clean. My baby is 5 months old

Gradually increasing wake windows throughout the day

I know it’s typically advised that the first wake window of the day is the shortest and the last one before bedtime be the longest but it seems it’s the opposite for my LO?
Shes 4 months and no matter when I start trying to wind her down for her naps she always falls asleep at the 2 hour mark (almost always on the dot). Her last ww before bedtime is then 1.5 hours most of the time. But then she’s waking up every 2 hours so could she be overtired?

Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Burping

I am struggling to burp my LO after breastfeeding and as soon as I put him down to sleep he will start to twist and cry but whatever I do I just can’t get it up. Is there anything else I could try to help get him to burp?

Did anyone who rocked their baby/co slept etc (didn’t sleep train) have a baby/child who ended up sleeping independently all night?

Interested to know if you don’t actually need to sleep train to eventually get a child that sleeps 😂 my 8 month old gets held to sleep and placed in cot but he’s up a lot in the night until eventually he settles in our bed around 4;30am. I’m happy to do this with the hopes that one night he’ll just sleep through or am I wishful thinking 😂

Constipation in a mixed-fed 5-month-old

My baby is mixed fed (formula + breastfed). Since he turned 4 months, he’s really started struggling to poop. Sometimes he goes 5 days without going, and this time we’re on day 6 with still nothing 😩

Our GP prescribed lactulose, which helped the last couple of times, but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. His wet nappies are fine and he drinks okay, although probably not quite as much as he should for his age. He does seem uncomfortable sometimes, but otherwise he’s happy, playful and completely himself during the day.

I’m also wondering if the constipation is affecting how much he drinks during the day, because he still wakes every 3 hours at night to feed.

Has anyone else gone through this with their baby? Did you find anything that actually helped with the constipation? Would really appreciate any advice or experiences ❤️
