Gradually increasing wake windows throughout the day

I know it’s typically advised that the first wake window of the day is the shortest and the last one before bedtime be the longest but it seems it’s the opposite for my LO?
Shes 4 months and no matter when I start trying to wind her down for her naps she always falls asleep at the 2 hour mark (almost always on the dot). Her last ww before bedtime is then 1.5 hours most of the time. But then she’s waking up every 2 hours so could she be overtired?

Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

My lO is 5 months tomorrow and I tried the shorter wake window first thing and he's not having it 🤣🤣 so we are trying two hours now think they can be anywhere from two to two and a half wake windows not 100% sure though xx

4 months olds should have wake windows max 2 hours. Because the nervous system otherwise gets overwhelmed.
So you need to put her/him to sleep at around 1:45 , so that they are asleep as it’s gets to 2 hours.

Hi, at this stage we followed huckleberry sweetspot and it was great to predict naptimes. I think we started to wind down 1:45 hrs and in 10 mins he was fall asleep. I would not increase wake window yet.

Just follow sleepy clues such as rubbing their eyes, being a bit fussy, being slower, yawning.

If anything the nap before bed time I have made the shortest when my children were the same age as yours. I’d let them have as long as they wanted for their first/second naps and then the last one would be about half an hour. They naturally would have a longer nap at lunch time and the other two would be shorter, but the one before bed time would be to tide them over til bed time, and would be the first one I would drop when cutting down to two naps. Also, as she’s four months, it could just be the sleep regression that’s making her wake. If she was overtired then it would be difficult to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep, lots of false starts, you’d be able to tell if she was overtired!

Seems to be the same for us atm! First one is longest then last one is really short!

In law anxiety

I’m a FTM and since my LO was born (he’s 10 weeks currently) my MIL has insisted that she wants to spend the night with him, and keeps saying ‘you can leave him with me, just give me some bottles’. I’m no longer expressing and only direct BF and I have also told her that I am not comfortable yet with my baby spending the night away from me. I have also told her I am no longer expressing so that wouldn’t be an option anyway. I just can’t seem to wrap my head around why she would assume I would be comfortable being away from my baby so soon. Its giving me anxiety that if and when I decide to wean my baby that she will expect me to be okay with this and I still don’t think i’ll be comfortable with this in the future. Has anyone else experienced this?

Working Mums - Help!

I work 3 days a week, in which my daughter goes to nursery. My partner leaves for work at 5am, so the whole process of getting up, ready and out the house is all on me. I only have a 15 month old but i’m struggling so much to be able to get myself ready and keep her distracted. How are we all managing this?

She’s into everything and in that stage where I can’t take my eyes off her, which makes it even impossible to brush my teeth.

She’s not predictable with her wakes, especially at the min as we’re going through an awful sleep regression, some days she wakes at 4am others 6am so trying to get up and ready before her isn’t really possible.

I don’t allow a lot of screen time and because of this she doesn’t really sit in front of the tv as i’ve tried this also.

Any help appreciated 😅

Burping

I am struggling to burp my LO after breastfeeding and as soon as I put him down to sleep he will start to twist and cry but whatever I do I just can’t get it up. Is there anything else I could try to help get him to burp?

Did anyone who rocked their baby/co slept etc (didn’t sleep train) have a baby/child who ended up sleeping independently all night?

Interested to know if you don’t actually need to sleep train to eventually get a child that sleeps 😂 my 8 month old gets held to sleep and placed in cot but he’s up a lot in the night until eventually he settles in our bed around 4;30am. I’m happy to do this with the hopes that one night he’ll just sleep through or am I wishful thinking 😂
