UK Travel System Recommendations

Hi everyone, I’m needing some help with pram/travel system recommendations. We won’t be able to get a new car before baby arrives and it’s quite small! We have a Mini Cooper, so boot space is limited at the best of times. I’m after a pram where the bassinet is foldable too to take up as little space as possible because we ALSO have a dog that will sometimes be out with us and baby.

I’ve been looking at the dragonfly, cove 2 and upline 3 but I just wondered if anyone else has any recommendations.

The nuna mixx next we have ordered the bassinet collapse flat, but doesn’t fold in half

I got the babyzen yoyo for traveling, it’s cabin approved and light. For daily use I got the buggaboo fox 5 renew. It’s very sturdy but slightly heavy and bulky. The yoyo folds all the way for both the newborn bassinet and the toddler seat. It folds very small and is super light! Though it has small wheels and the sturdiness I am not too sure off.

The Silver Cross Cove folds completely flat and in half with the bassinet on it! Silver Cross is quite bulky though so I’m not sure how well it would fit- I have a Q2 and I can lie it flat, but not stand it up in my boot. We bought a Silver Cross complete baby bundle and honestly I could not fault it, the Glide 360 seat etc is great!

We bought the Joie Finiti Flex 3-in-1 Travel System Bundle with i-Level Pro Car Seat and ISOFix Base Sandstone. It’s on the pricey side but it fits in my vw polo

Working Mums - Help!

I work 3 days a week, in which my daughter goes to nursery. My partner leaves for work at 5am, so the whole process of getting up, ready and out the house is all on me. I only have a 15 month old but i’m struggling so much to be able to get myself ready and keep her distracted. How are we all managing this?

She’s into everything and in that stage where I can’t take my eyes off her, which makes it even impossible to brush my teeth.

She’s not predictable with her wakes, especially at the min as we’re going through an awful sleep regression, some days she wakes at 4am others 6am so trying to get up and ready before her isn’t really possible.

I don’t allow a lot of screen time and because of this she doesn’t really sit in front of the tv as i’ve tried this also.

Any help appreciated 😅

Did anyone who rocked their baby/co slept etc (didn’t sleep train) have a baby/child who ended up sleeping independently all night?

Interested to know if you don’t actually need to sleep train to eventually get a child that sleeps 😂 my 8 month old gets held to sleep and placed in cot but he’s up a lot in the night until eventually he settles in our bed around 4;30am. I’m happy to do this with the hopes that one night he’ll just sleep through or am I wishful thinking 😂

Driving alone with baby?

When did you first drive with just your baby in the back? I've got the full safe setup installed but I am still nervous to drive anywhere alone yet. My baby is 5 weeks old on Friday and there's a bf support group I want to attend but it's too far to walk there :(

When my husband drives I am in the back with my son, holding his head when there are sharp turns and potholes because he is still a bit too small for the car seat to be holding his head in place (apparently this is normal and still fine but it worries me!)

Accepting my new Mum bod post surgery

I'm 10 weeks postpartum and went to the doctor yesterday for our Mother and Baby check. When it got to me, the doctor said "can you lift up your stomach so I can see the scar" 🤣😭
...loool the way a little bit of me died inside. It's barely even an overhang and my stomach has healed really well! There's no flap. I found it funny but also a bit of a gut punch because it's taken me all 10 weeks to adjust to my new body, appreciate it for all it's done, given me, and start to accept/like it again. Any new mums had similar scenarios or finding it a struggle to adapt to liking your new mum body post C section?

Gradually increasing wake windows throughout the day

I know it’s typically advised that the first wake window of the day is the shortest and the last one before bedtime be the longest but it seems it’s the opposite for my LO?
Shes 4 months and no matter when I start trying to wind her down for her naps she always falls asleep at the 2 hour mark (almost always on the dot). Her last ww before bedtime is then 1.5 hours most of the time. But then she’s waking up every 2 hours so could she be overtired?

Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

How are we holding up mama?

Baby girl is 4 weeks old now, partner has gone back to work and the fact that dad's only have 2 weeks is borderline cruelty. 2 days in and I hate that I have to choose between feeding myself, doing chores and hyping myself up to go get food. I have a fomo baby so we have to deal with 3h wake windows combined with the witching hour and overtireness screaming. I almost had a breakdown yesterday. I know it will get better but don't help cope now 🙃 it's one day at a time.
