postpartum migraines

I've always had migraines and was on medication for it at one point. When I was pregnant they weirdly stopped and I didn't get a single headache. After having my baby they come back once or twice a month again 😑. I even had a cluster headache episode one night and the pain was honestly similar to when I was in labor, same intensity just in my eyeball instead of my uterus 😆

I developed chronic migraines after having my little one. Used have a handful a year and then got worse.

I would suggest going to the doctors for a blood test as I found that I was extremely low in my b vitamins, calcium and folate, and doctor suggested that could be a factor. Something my doctor also mentioned that it was possibly due to all the hormone changes in the body.

I ended up being put on amitriptyline and propranolol for my migraines. It was trial and error getting the right doses to manage my migraines.

Migraines are frustrating as sometimes you never really get to the bottom of what causes them. And even harder to deal with when you have a little one also.

completely agree, migraines with a baby are so much worse than migraines without, even though i think the pain was worse when i was having them before my baby😭 i had one yesterday during my son’s wake window and he was talking to me and was playing with his rattles, i was on the struggle bus😂x
