Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Everyone is different, i had my first trip out about a week after and felt really sore in the evening but then a few days later tried again and felt a lot better ☺️ take it easy it and sit down when you can xx

Just pace yourself, rest as much as you can , keep up on tylenol and motrin. Ice as soon as youre home and ready to relax, put your feet up too!

I would say you’ll be okay but everyone is different. I was at Twycross zoo 7 days after my second section and was alright x

I was out and about a couple days after mine, just take it slow and make sure you get plenty of rest before and after xx

First week was definitely hard but its gotten easier with each week heck at 3 we drove 6hours to see family and when me husband got a new tattoo I asked our friend who owned the shop to give me one and he called me a crazy lady and to ask again in 6months. Everyone is different with pain

I was out food shopping on day 5-6.
I just pushed the pram and that was it.
Just don’t over do it and take time to rest.
You don’t want an infection or your scar reopening also they have gone through about 7 layers to get your baby out so also think about your fat and muscle recovery.

I’ve had 3 c-sections. 2 of which were during winter months. Be careful and pace yourself with for snow and ice.
#1 & 2 I was out walking 24h after surgery and being home.
#3 I was out and walking a week after. Walking our oldest child to & from school 3 weeks after.
I’ll be a month postpartum/post-op on Monday. And I’m just now starting to feel my normal.
Every body and every recovery is going to be different. Every healing process will be different.
Give yourself time if you need it.

I was out and about 5 ish days after. Everyone’s different but that was absolutely fine for me so a couple more weeks I’d assume you’ll be ok!

my first one was also an emergency and traumatic. recovery felt hard, but i just paced myself and tried to rest a lot. i had a second & it was a planned c-section and it was so much better all around. i was up and moving the same day, the more you move around the better you’ll feel. i DID have to travel to FL for a funeral 2 weeks PP.. was not ideal, but it was my sister. but same thing i just did my best to rest and take it easy. i would say do what feels right!
I think I'm going to take a slow walk to pick my oldest up from nursery next week and build from there.
Congratulations on your new little one. Glad your feeling good! Xx

I went out about a week after but only down the road to register his birth..one thing I found helped was pushing the pram as I could put my weight on it which helps with the pain xx

My first trip out was around 2 weeks but just to register baby and go for a lunch to celebrate.
It depends what the day out entails.
I would probably still go but take it as steady as you can. Lots of rest stops.

It just depends on your recovery. I was still struggling with walks around the block at that point but everyone is different.

I went to the pub around 5-6 days after my c section (for lunch) it was definitely too soon and I would give it more time next time. After 2 weeks I was good !

I was out and about less than a week after my c section (emergency) - everyone recovers differently but I felt totally fine by then.

Just go with what you feel you can do. I still needed to sit down regularly at 4 weeks but my recovery was rough. I just stopped, sat down and let myself recover then kept going. I didnt let it stop me getting out I just listened and rested when needed.

My first c section was an emergency and I almost bled to death on the table. I didn’t have a day out until 2 1/2 weeks postpartum. I managed it as relaxed as I could and it wasn’t too bad. I was super exhausted by the end of the day.
Second section was even worse but my baby was in NICU so I had to be driven to the hospital and walking around independently there by 7 days postpartum. I managed but it took a long time to feel recovered.
So - take it as it comes and listen to your body. You can probably make it work if you have to, but don’t force anything. 💕
I’m 37 weeks today (it’s 1:28am) and I’m having reduced movement. I usually feel baby going crazy at this time but he’s not moving much or at all right now. he is usually active between 12-4am. do I wait a little longer or should I ring triage and go in??
everytime I’ve gone in for reduced movement, baby has been PERFECTLY fine. In fact he starts kicking the second i get there. I’m also having a perfect pregnancy, there is no health issues or complications. I feel like this is important information to add as it explains why I’m worrying but not toooo much. I’m sure everything is fine but what do you think?
Should I wait or go in?

Only putting this here as I don’t have anyone to say this to 😂. Started collecting colostrum today at 36 weeks. I’m getting induced at 37 weeks due to little one being on the smaller side so I was advised by my midwife to start collecting this week. I managed to get 0.5ml this morning after 10 minute(might have been more if I didn’t miss the syringe as no one told me how fiddly it was 😂). For my first time collecting I would say that wasn’t bad at all.

I’m 39+3 and had a growth scan today. Baby is estimating 9lb 14oz and I am absolutely terrified. I’ve been booked in to get induced on Thursday. They’ve put the fear of god into me by listing all the risks of having a big baby so now I’m really scared to have him vaginally, although I’m petrified of a C section and want to avoid that at all costs.
This is my second baby and I can’t believe how scared I am to do it this time round. He’s been predicted small until around 37 weeks where he had a huge growth spurt and has continued getting bigger since.
I know growth scans can be inaccurate, my first born was estimated 9lb and came out 7lb 11oz (I had GD and got induced) however she was always predicting bigger from the start. This time round it’s been so weird as he’s been below the 50th centile until 37 weeks where he’s then jumped. His tummy is on the 99th centile now and overall weight is 95th centile.
I’ve come away from the hospital feeling really worried today 🫠

Hi NorCal moms, if you decided to deliver in El Camino Hospital in the bay area, which of the two locations did you pick for your delivery? I’m not seeing any major reason to pick one over the other like facilities And they are both equidistant from me

My boy is 6 months old and about a month ago he started rolling and now has given up. Showing no signs of wanting to roll. Also I see on here that some people have 6 month olds that have teeth, saying mama, crawling and even trying to pull themselves up to stand my boy does none of this and I’m starting to get worried that he’s not developing properly. Anyone else have a 6 month old who dosent roll or have teeth yet?

I am currently 10w +3, I had my first midwife appointment last week. She mentioned about the screening for Down's syndrome, Edwards' syndrome and Patau's syndrome and that this would be done at my 12 week scan if we wanted it. I know it’s only to advise if the chance is higher or lower of the baby having this but I’m sooo torn whether to have it! Just looking for a bit of advice really, do most people have this testing done? Is there anyone that didn’t?
Thankyou
