Has anyone ever just skipped out on their 6 week pp check up?😭 I know this is stupid but I'm just curious. This is my 2nd baby, vaginal birth, no complications, 2nd degree tear, but I feel great! Physically and emotionally. I have no pain at all, no more bleeding, and I'm almost 100% sure my stitches are dissolved. My ob/gyn is 30 min away from me, and I will have to take both my toddler and newborn with me when I go cause my partner will be at work and I don't want to spend more money on a nanny. And I feel like it's gonna be a quick appointment since I have no problems and I just feel like it'll be a waste of time. Like I know I should get checked out just to be safe but I just feel so good and completely back to normal I really don't want to😭

Preventative care is vital. Even if nothing comes of the appointment. I'm very much in support of preventative medicine and will always vote better safe than sorry, but I know there are people who don't trust/rely on their providers for that. Up to you at the end of the day, but I'd go.

I think its silly and irresponsible to not go. I don't know where you are from but where I live the 6 week appointment is also to check bubs as well as mum. I understand it may be alot of effort to do it all with a toddler as well but theirs a reason they get us to attend these appointments

I didn’t go to mine after my second either. I feel like I went to the one after my first but not sure. You could see if you could do a virtual visit instead.

What about 6w midwife check for baby? Health nurse or whatever. Ask her to check you? Coz our babies here get the immunisations at 6w at the health nurse I guess if I really wanted to I could ask her to check me, as that’s the time I had to fill in the sheet for PPD as well and they weighed baby and gave shots etc. wherever you are taking baby for the 6w checkup ask there? I’m not saying skip it I’m more saying hit 2 birds w one stone lol. Most people go Dr for 6w clearance also to talk about birth control
