I feel like I’ve seen so many posts about inductions and scheduled births, but not much about this in-between space where you’re just… waiting. I’m due on the 6th, and all I keep hearing from my midwives is “you’ll have a baby by the marathon” (20th) and “babies come on their birthdays.” I know they’re right, but that doesn’t make this any easier.
Every day feels like Groundhog Day—waking up wondering “is today the day?” and going to bed still waiting. It’s such a weird mix of excitement, anticipation, and honestly… mental exhaustion. Knowing your life is about to completely change at any moment, but having zero control over when, is a lot.
Would love to hear from other home birth moms—how are you coping with this waiting period?

Not a home birth, but just waited on my baby's timing. I thought for sure I was going to go past my due date. Nope, water broke and had him a little earlier than my due date.
It's hard, especially if you're still working and preparing. We moved two weeks before my son was born 😅
