My husband has to do overnights with work sometimes to London which is like an 7 hour train journey from our home. At what point of pregnancy would you start to feel uncomfortable with him going away/request he decline the trip? I can't drive and live 50 minutes away from the nearest hospital.

Is he allowed to decline the work?

My husband has his last working away when i was 38 weeks pregnant, he was in Aberdeen and we live in leeds so it was about 7 hours away.
I can drive, but at that stage I was too big to be able to safely touch the pedals on the car, his parents where in Spain and his brother was also a few hours away, my family all live in scotland so I was stuck on my own. But honestly I wasn't that bothered. Id have just got a taxi if I really needed too.

Like 32 weeks, issues can happen and you want him home just in case.

I would have said any point during pregnancy for my own but I was high risk through and through and you didn't mention anything like that

Tough situation to plan for. It depends on how easy/healthy your pregnancy/baby are and have been. I didn't go into labor (had to be induced) until 41 weeks. Not that it's as common, but I'd say neither is naturally going into labor before 36/37 weeks. Someone threw out 32 weeks. Can you imagine if he stopped working from that point and then you didn't deliver until 41 weeks? That's 2 months! š¦ I would have him work up until around due date if in your shoes

This would stress me out so much. The bigger issue is you not being to drive. You still have time - get some lessons booked!

I would actually say 36 weeks because thatās when pregnancy usually starts to become intense.

Our premature was born at 34weeks.. Weāre currently 31weeks.. My husband knows that information and respectfully doesnāt even consider certain jobs that would take him so far from his family that he couldnāt be here in a timely manner.
Jobs replace people quickly. Family doesnāt.

I think it totally depends on if you have someone else nearby that could drive you places, just in case

If you and baby are both healthy then 37 weeks should be fine. Ask your OB as well! Ask your husband if a note from your OB saying to stay close would be helpful to show his boss as well
Hi guys Iām looking for advice, due to unforeseen circumstances I cannot return to work until January , and my MAT leave has now stopped. My partner earns a semi decent wage , nothing lavish , however we cannot live solely off his wage , is there anything at all I can claim ? I would appreciate any advice you can give me ,
Yours sincerely , one Mumma that canāt stop crying over money issues

So my OB really is making this journey a pain in the ass. First they scheduled me with a doctor who is retiring this winter and no longer takes patients--so I was rescheduled twice with my current doctor. That was two separate occasions.
I then needed approval for medication for my asthma because I was suffocating from a flare up. They never called back after 3 days and contacting the office is a bitch since AI answers calls. I was going to wait for my next appointment to get meds but I'm so unwell that I got an emergency script.
Then today I was suppose to have said appointment plus my anatomy scan. Husband takes off work for the day, excited to see his little man and ensure I'm healthy. I get a call last minute to reschedule because my doctor moved offices.
Last time I checked the doctor needs to be flexible with a patient's schedule. Not the other way around. Especially in a day and age when both parties have to work in this shit economy so making time for an appointment can be a hassle.
If they mess up again I'm switching clinics because I'm 20 weeks and I don't have the patience for all this nonsense. They screwed up 3/4 appointments so far and I've had it.
I'm already very nervous about how my baby is doing. I've only seen him once in a scan at 7 weeks and he was only a tiny bean.
My family is super excited and they're getting equally as pissed with me when it comes to the doctor's office. š«©

If you were to ask your husband if he still loves you and he responds, āI supposeā how would you take it?
