Measuring in the 18th Percentile

Just got back from my 28w+6 growth scan šŸ¤
Baby girl is measuring in the 18th percentile. I can’t help but feel a bit worried. I’ve been noticing my bump seems smaller compared to others at this stage, and now it kind of makes sense.
anyone else having a baby measuring on the smaller side? What are you going to do with your diet?
Trying to stay calm but would really appreciate hearing your experiences šŸ’•

Mine was 23th percentile at 27w6d. Try to not worry. About bump measurement doesn’t mean anything. My midwife told me they don’t measure bumps because it’s not accurate. There are babies smaller than others, until they tell you it’s fine don’t panic ā™„ļø

As long as baby is tracking consistently on that percentile I wouldn't worry ā¤ļø it's only when they drop off dramatically that there's cause for concern.
In regards to belly size it's all relative. My bump with my first was tiny. I had about 3 growth scans because my belly was always on the small size. Even midwife's will tell you it's an outdated and inaccurate way to measure babies.

Are they sitting stable on the 18th centile curve? Some babies are generally just small , it’s only when they drop through centiles that it becomes a worry.

For example one of my twins has gone from;
24+5 - 77 centile
26+5 - 34 centile
27+3 - 28 centile
And it’s only now they’re worrying and keeping an eye to check he’s not growth restricted or brain sparing.

I know it’s stressful but you might just have a small baby in general.

I would ignore any bump measurements aswell as they really aren’t accurate as everyone’s uterus sits differently and everyone has a different amount of waters etc

I wouldn’t worry too much as mine is measuring on the 10th percentile on the growth chart and I’m 29 weeks, an it’s been consistent like that since 25 weeks and the haven’t mentioned to me that they are worriedšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøā˜ŗļø

No bleeding after c section

9 days post op and I’ve not been bleeding at all.. I only bled some clots for the first 24-48 hours but nothing after that. Midwives are advising this is normal, has anyone else experienced no bleeding after c section?

Braxton Hicks vs early labour — anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced going into labour with only Braxton Hicks contractions — so more like discomfort or tightening rather than actual pain — and not realising that labour had started.
I’m currently 39+3 and had a sweep yesterday. I’m already 1 cm dilated, baby is 1/5 engaged, and the midwife said she could feel the baby’s head. My cervix is soft and short, so all the signs seem positive — it feels like we’re just waiting for baby to arrive now.
During my appointment, the midwife also noticed I was having 2–3 contractions (just tightening in my bump) without any pain. She mentioned that some women can go into labour without realising it and advised me to keep an eye on them. She even suggested that what I’ve been feeling so far might be what’s helped me get to this stage.
So I’d love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience — I know it’s not impossible!
Thank you 😊

What if I don’t want an induction?

Hi everyone, I’m 39+1 weeks, my next midwife appt is on my due date which I am happy about however hope I go into labour before then. I have had slight twinges and small pains, however nothing has happened yet and I am gutted as I really don’t want any type of induction. Say I get to 41+ weeks, and I don’t want any type of induction, what happens then? This might be a very silly question but my midwife isn’t helpful and would rather hear from others as opposed to doctor Google. Thanksss! X

Soft spot concern

I took my little boy into the doctors for a chest infection earlier and they said she concerned over his soft spot hasn't closed yet and is quite sunken.. but he's not dehydrated and putting on weight well, so have done some type of advice and guidance to paeds and said they may want to look at his brain/head or may be nothing, called a doctor in and he said he'd never seen anything like it even working in paeds, which has now made me worry. Anyone else had the same or similar?🄺😭

How many people can stay in hospital

Hi all, do you know how many people can stay with you in the hospital after your delivery in the recovery room? Mine is a planned C-section at Homerton. Do they allow more than 1?
