Anyone help please? I returned to work from maternity in November, I asked to be part time and the 20 hours I requested were rejected so I have to do 23.5 hours which is fine.
From January, I’ve been paid for 20 hours, I’ve been told it can take months (6-7 months) for the 23.5 hour contract to be approved. Not only that, I was overpaid when I returned to work so I have to pay back £100 a month.
Is this unfair???? I’m underpaid by £180 a month but have to pay back £100. I’ve emailed SO many people and causing me so much stress that nothing is being done to get this sorted quickly. Tempted to go off sick tbh! I work for the NHS, employee of 16 years and I feel like I’m being treated unfairly.

First step is to contact ACAS immediately. They're usually very helpful. They'll probably advise you to contact HMRC, but they will help you (I worked in payroll for many years, but have never worked for a company that have done this. This is just my guess at your best action)
