I know being a stay at home mom is meant to be staying at home with the kids. But do you ever consider sending them to school? Especially if you have multiples? Or do you just homeschool? I feel like I want to send my oldest to school and stay home with the baby. My oldest just turned 4. What should he be in (pre k or… ?) I’m not sure.

Yes definitely! Sometimes you need a break too even just a few days for a few hours. find a preschool (in home or otherwise) that offers just a few days for 2.5-3 hrs it will be a game changer for you ❤️

You can be a stay at home mom with kids in school. You'd be able yoto attend any fields trips or offer support in their school as needed, show up to their sports/ activities etc.
If you want to send yours in, do it♥️ your 4 yr old would be in pre-k BUT check for tk programs as majority, if not ago, are free and some take in 4yr olds! It's mostly for kids who don't best the cut off for kindergarten age and so they go to tk to prep for a more formal classroom/ educational setting

I’m a SAHM but will for sure be sending my kids to school. To me it is two entirely separate things. School is very important and while I will be very sad to be away from them, I know it is the right decision

I’m a SAHM but don’t homeschool. That’s a step too far for me and I know I couldn’t cope. It’s good to know your limitations.

I’m a SAHM and my oldest in school my middle goes to daycare twice a week

Being a stay at home Mom does not mean you have to homeschool your kids all of my children will be in school

I’m a SAHM and I am not ashamed to say that I am not a born teacher. Nor was I all that great at academics (I went the art direction). For sure mine is going to school, we have voluntary pk down in FL which is free, and both a school year and summer program, as soon as she’s eligible she’ll go. Hopefully she does better than I did 🤣🤣🤣

I’m a SAHM and I’ve never homeschooled any of my kids.
I have however considered homeschooling but not because of guilt or feeling like that’s my role but because the schools suck sometimes.
But as of now all my kids go to school and even before I had a new baby I was sending them to school lol

When it was just my oldest I worked part-time as a nanny and brought him with me. I did that until he was 5 & my 2nd was 2 (& we also attended a parent + child hiking group once a week). Then covid hit & I transitioned to a being a stay at homeschooling mom. My boys are now 11, 7, & our 3rd is 3.
I personally believe my children are meant to be home with me. But it would have been extremely beneficial for my mental health to have a break when they were little. Id advise you to weigh the pros & cons and decide from there.
But don't feel pre-k is necessary (whether you choose public school or homeschooling).

I’m a mostly SAHM (I work as a per diem RN) to our one and only who is 16 months old. Not planning on any more. I will be sending him to half day pre-school when he is 3 or 4 to socialize and give me a small break. Not sure if I will homeschool or do a private school. I will go back to work more if he goes to school full time. If I had another kid though I wouldn’t think twice if I wanted to send him to school if I still had another baby to tend to - that wouldn’t mean I need to go to work, the other baby just needs you then.

I used to say, or would hear others tell me that going back to work when kids were in school sounded ideal. Turns out, absolutely not! Lol. My 4yro is in TK and my 6yro in kindergarten at our local elementary school from 8am-12:40pm. There is a week long break in October, week for Thanksgiving, 2.5 weeks for Christmas, week for Spring break and then summer. Not sure how I would find a job that can accommodate all of that. I love continuing be a SAHM. The few hours of a break when they are at school has been the best refresher! We don't live near family so it's my first time having a break. I don't ever want to go back to a job where I have to ask for time off or call in sick so looks like being a SAHM is my gig indefinitely 🤘

I do when I’m tired and frustrated 😅
My husband works nights and sometimes he’s gone all day and all night so it’s just me and my eight month old. No one comes to visit even though his family lives close by and I’m just exhausted. He doesn’t sleep well overnight so I’m just constantly sleep deprived and now he is crawling and constantly just wants to get into everything that he shouldn’t have quite literally anything a fan and end table the dog bowls so if I put him in his playpen, I feel bad he’s in the playpen for too long, but then I let him out and he’s constantly just going for every single thing he shouldn’t have
I guess I’m just curious what everyone does when they’re by themselves with their baby lately. I feel like I’m just getting depressed and I’m not cut out for this. I’m constantly just stressed and tired and also feel guilty that I get frustrated because he’s just a baby he’s also constantly pulling and wanting to stand on me and pinching me all of the time I’m touched out by the end of the day.
And to make it worse by two dogs who I loved very very much as soon as he was born I just can’t stand them the barking the getting in the way it’s all just getting to be too much and I know I should be grateful for everything I have, but exhausted

I want to leave my partner, I cannot do this anymore, it’s affecting my mental health and making me feel physically unwell.
I feel completely unsupported, emotionally, physically, the constant criticism and looking down his nose at me every single day, I absolutely resent him. We have a 14 month old, and I am also currently 18 weeks pregnant with our second, we were due to be moving at the end of the year, hours away from my family and friends to be closer to his work and the thought of it is seriously triggering me, I just feel like I will be completely isolated with 2 young children and no support.
I will not lose anything by leaving, I can stay in my house I have now and I would get support financially as a single person, but the thought of being a single Mum to 2 under 2 and going through the rest of my pregnancy alone while caring for a toddler is also deeply upsetting to me too. This just isn’t what I wanted for myself or my children, we have been together for 5 years 😢
I just wanted to hear anyone else’s experiences who have been through the same thing, and did it work out for you? I have held on in hopes things will change, but evidently to me now, they just never will! Please help x

I need to have a rant and would welcome supportive messages back.
I’m having money troubles with my partner and it’s getting really difficult. I am currently taking all the financial stress while on maternity leave as he chose to leave his job at the end of August. He’s now going back to his job but not until mid-end of October so the strain is on me. He also wants to take a two week trip before he goes back to work but hasn’t shared any money and is expecting it to be paid by me…
Every time I raise money or go to talk to him about work he flips out, shouts and then goes quiet and refuses to talk to me.
I’m at a loss as what to do because I just need him to understand how I’m feeling, it’s a lot of pressure with a 2-month old.

My husband has been back to work this month and it’s been the hardest. He somehow thinks because he has work, I’m the primary caregiver and that’s why I have leave from work. He wants to sleep in on weekends, play video games until 4am (because night time is the only time for himself to do things for him), go to the gym and then show up at 2/3pm….is this normal? I’m going to lose my mind.

Last night, I found out that my husband has been unfaithful to me in circumstances that I find extremely distressing and humiliating.
It appears that when we travelled to my hometown on holiday, he either went to a brothel or contacted a sex worker online. What makes this particularly devastating is that it did not end there. He continued communicating with this woman, developed feelings for her, sent her a significant amount of money, and apparently made plans and promises to bring her to the UK. He was planning to eventually leave me and our young child and have her come here instead.
I only discovered all of this last night and I am in complete shock. I feel deeply betrayed and humiliated, and at the moment I am struggling to process what has happened or even think clearly.
I have not slept at all since finding out. I have been experiencing severe anxiety, constant nausea, diarrhoea, palpitations and a feeling of emptiness in my stomach. Despite not sleeping, I still feel extremely alert and unable to switch off.
On top of the emotional shock, I am extremely frightened about my future. I am not financially independent and I do not know how I would be able to continue living in the UK as a single mother or support myself and my child on my own. I suddenly feel as though my entire life, my family and my sense of security have been taken away from me at once.
I am also completely alone here with my young child and I do not have family or anyone nearby who can support me or take over childcare while I recover. I am finding it extremely difficult to cope with both the emotional shock and the physical symptoms, and I need some support to help me get through this immediate crisis.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
