My husband works nights and sometimes he’s gone all day and all night so it’s just me and my eight month old. No one comes to visit even though his family lives close by and I’m just exhausted. He doesn’t sleep well overnight so I’m just constantly sleep deprived and now he is crawling and constantly just wants to get into everything that he shouldn’t have quite literally anything a fan and end table the dog bowls so if I put him in his playpen, I feel bad he’s in the playpen for too long, but then I let him out and he’s constantly just going for every single thing he shouldn’t have
I guess I’m just curious what everyone does when they’re by themselves with their baby lately. I feel like I’m just getting depressed and I’m not cut out for this. I’m constantly just stressed and tired and also feel guilty that I get frustrated because he’s just a baby he’s also constantly pulling and wanting to stand on me and pinching me all of the time I’m touched out by the end of the day.
And to make it worse by two dogs who I loved very very much as soon as he was born I just can’t stand them the barking the getting in the way it’s all just getting to be too much and I know I should be grateful for everything I have, but exhausted

Feel free to message me , I never had a village my family is 16 hours away , my baby is 10 months and I finally left her dad (for the best) because it was like being a single mom anyway (and other things ) his family also lived close and never helped .

Oh my goodness.. it was like I was reading my own thoughts seeing your post. You are not alone. We just moved to the area and don’t know anyone, my family is across the country. It’s sooo hard! Don’t be too hard on yourself. I’m so good at that. You’re doing great!

I have no village and I understand all your saying

Same. Feel free to text me

You're not alone mama! My husband works overnights as well and I don't think it's given enough credit. It feels like I'm doing this all by myself constantly. I have my family close, but we are on opposite schedules just for existing so I don't have much help either. You can always message me and we can talk! You are doing a fantastic job.

I have no village also and it’s hard, you’re completely valid in your feelings and questions. My husband travels for work, and I have no family, and his family lives far away. It was HARD the first couple times alone with our daughter- but we now have a routine and it’s our time to bond and play and learn. Don’t get me wrong- I LONG for a village, I mourn the fact I don’t have it- and I get really sad thinking about it sometimes- but- I have been trying to really put myself out there on this app, in person, when I’m running errands, or even when I see another mom out even if my daughter isn’t with me and trying to build my own village. It’s hard work, but it makes me feel validated that I’m trying. If you need to talk please message me! I’m down to talk or just listen any time you need someone to hear you. I see you and I know it’s not easy- especially with pets.

You are not alone and just spoke my truth too.! I’ve kinda been alone since 4 DAYS postpartum. My husband is amazing and I love him to pieces and ofc he’d rather be home with us all the time, but his career has him constantly away and traveling :( I never feel seen or heard and have no village. My mom’s family (my cousins & aunts and uncles) live like an hour or so away from me and only
2 have checked in on me postpartum, asked if I need anything or asked to meet my baby. I have a few friends, one that has a 2 yr old already & is busy, one just had a baby a month ago, one way an hour south of me who is due in January and a few out of state friends but they don’t quite get what it’s like.
I feel you on the animal thing. I have two cats and freshly pp and with a newborn it was rough. Constantly meowing and needing something on top of no sleep and baby crying all the time. I had many breakdowns especially the first day I was home alone with her, but it got better for me. I feel u

Omg I’m going through something sooooo similar. 😭😭 I don’t live near family and have no help. My man works 12s and I love love my dogs but I can’t stand them since getting pregnant 😞 I’m so sorry you’re going through all of that. message me! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Hey, you are not alone Mama 🫶 The end of my pregnancy was really hard. My husband is a blue collar worker and military so it was incredibly difficult. Both sides of the family didn’t come to visit, and it was so hard. Unfortunately, this also carried over post birth and it’s been so tough. I will say though … God does NOT give us anything we can’t handle. In some ways, it has made me a stronger person. But, it doesn’t take away how tough it can be. If you want to talk, love, I have some tips on how I got through it. xxoo

I have an 8 month as well and I get overwhelmed too. All my family lives out of state and my husband isn’t always very helpful with the baby, so I understand how frustrating it could be. It sounds like your baby is ahead of all the milestones if he’s already trying to stand, and sometimes that can make it even more challenging, but that just shows how great of a job you’re doing with him that he’s confident to advance his skills so quickly!
You are cut out for this and your baby knows it. You are his favorite person. I’m sure he looks at you like you hung the moon.
I know this is easier said than done, but what has helped me through all the late nights with no sleep and when he’s crying and clingy is that I just think to myself before I know it he’s going be an adult and so I really try to enjoy every moment even if that means leaving my house a mess while I contact nap with him.
You said you have family nearby. Have you reached out to them for help? Or is that not an option?

I have no village near me and you can always send me a message and we can text or call. We can even meet up. It definitely is hard and that's an understatement. It is very isolating when you're by yourself the majority of the day and your baby is too young to have a conversation with you, so you're the only one speaking or you're silent for periods. I try to do something I enjoy during my baby's nap time. It could be reading a book, watching a show, taking a nice bath, a nap, painting, etc. I do try to go out on walks with my baby during the day. Just being outside helps a lot too.

Hey mama! You are doing a great job. I also have a 8 month old and was wondering if it’s too late to have PPD. Mine stems from being in the house allllll day. Lately to catch a break I put baby in her bouncer and put ms.Rachel on. I would lay on the couch with the bouncer in front of it just to rest my body while she’s occupied. I would say try to sleep when he’s napping. Get outside strap him around you and go for a walk. Do activities that can tire him out. When he naps keep it at a hour, when it’s closer to bedtime like two hours away only a quick nap if he’s really tired then tire him out leading to bedtime with activities so he can sleep through the night.

I totally understand how you feel my family is 4.5 hours away. 😕

I feel this! We just moved and now all my friends are way far away. I turned my living room into a baby safe play area so I can at least sit on the couch while baby plays and has free range of the room.

Can you hire a dog walker? Neighbor to hang with the pups? That will help tremendously! It gets easier but that’s one item off the list for the day…

My husband and I got married 5 days ago. We have been together for almost 5 years and have an 18 month old. 3 days ago he went through my phone and saw texts from the first year of our relationship with my ex. I continued communication with him and met up with him for drinks one night. Nothing happened between us. I cut communication off that same year. My now husband wants nothing to do with me. I’m absolutely gutted that a younger immature version of myself has ruined my marriage 3 days in. I don’t know what to do.
I love my husband and my family and I will do absolutely anything to save us. My husband had already said he wants nothing to do with me and doesn’t see this relationship worth saving because of it. I have no one to talk to about this because I’m embarrassed that we just had everyone together to celebrate our marriage and now less than a week later I’m talking about the end of it.
My behavior back then did not carry over into my relationship further. I said goodbye to my past and went into a beautiful relationship of learning, growth and love with my now husband. How do I come back from this especially for our daughter? she doesn’t deserve this, she doesn’t deserve to see me crying everyday and her dad absent in another room. The 3 of us were so close, did everything together now he can’t even look at me. I’m sick.

We were supposed to be going to my nan’s today for her birthday.
My sister messaged this morning to say her kid was a bit poorly when they woke up this morning so we decided not to go.
Reason being, we don’t like putting our daughter in front of illnesses knowingly because she suffers enough with what she catches from nursery (she’s 25 months). This week all week I’ve avoided going into the office knowing a colleague of mine has been ill. Also
this month we lost over £200 in our pay from unpaid time off because our kid couldn’t go to nursery so we had to stay home with her (who was made sick by their kid because they lied to us and said she didn’t have anything wrong when she had a stomach bug). Our family don’t help us out, not even with babysitting.
Our family are now treating us like the bad guys because we refused to go. They changed their minds about them being poorly after giving their kid medicine which was also after we said we weren’t going.
Were we in the wrong to protect our child and our finances? We’re really struggling because of losing that money in this months pay and I have a car MOT coming soon where I’ve already had to forego the servicing because we can’t afford it. We’ve taken loads of hits in pay that we just can’t afford to do anymore. But also my depression and anxiety have really taken a toll this week so I’m on heightened alert for anything or anyone making my child sick.

I feel like such a bad mum lately 😢
I am 12 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 and I am absolutely exhausted all day everyday
I have no energy to look after my 16 month old, im constantly having to say no to getting up and playing with her as I feel sick and just want to lay down on the sofa.
Ive recently only started to get help from my MIL after having a conversation with her about not helping. My daughter goes to nursery 1 day a week for 3 hours which is good for her.
I just want to cry everyday and have this pregnancy be over already as ive had enough.
I dont get out the house much as there isnt anything in my area to do and publis transport is unreliable
My partner works long hours so hes gone from 6am til 7pm almost everyday.
Also our daughter now sleeps in our bed and doesnt go to sleep til we do as she hates her cot and cries if you try to put her in there at night so I dont get a break from her all day and evening.
I just dont know what to do anymore

Is it just me being silly or is this ridiculous, basically my boyfriend has always gone out with his mates on a night out dead early and I mean EARLY I’m talking like 2pm/3pm until the early hours of 3am and I had this argument with him that we have an almost four month old baby girl and that he should start thinking that it’s a ridiculous time to go out and he agrees it’s long but his mates have always liked doing that. This by all means doesn’t mean I have a problem with him seeing his mates or going out but when you have a baby who’s still tiny doesn’t it just seem absolutely absurd??? Like when can I ever do that?? I don’t do at all, I’m probably being stupid but it’s just bothering me as he’s out now and I’m at home with our baby.
