Weeping from c section scar

I am 2 weeks 3 days PP and there has been a bit of oozing from corner of my incision.
Midwife has said it’s not too much to worry as it’s not red, swollen or hot to touch and been put on antibiotics since Thursday
Today I noticed a odour so have tried to air out the incision (which is under a skin fold) to see if that helps.

I have also notified 111 and waiting for an out of hours doctor to call me.

Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this to help me be less anxious while I wait for doctors.

Rinse off with Luke warm water when in the shower. I was the same. Might just be trapped swear

I'm the same, one of the sides of my incision got infected because the midwives left the stitches on for too long. I've been on antibiotics since Tuesday (not a major infection at all, just two stitches) and it also smells a bit funny, so I tap it with some sterile cotton pad with warm water 3-4 times per day and dry it with a mini fan or just blowing cold air on it. It's probably because of the area and the antibiotics should keep any infections at bay! 🙏🏻 xx

Right thing to call 111 and get an opinion. I had weeping with an odour and needed two rounds of antibiotics (they did a swab and my infection was resistant to penicillin so i needed a second round to fully clear it) and a bit of extra wound care (dressing changes and sterile cleaning) but have gone onto heal really really well (now 3mo pp).

If you have a lot of weeping I used disposable breast pads as a make shift absoarbant dressing until I could see a nurse as I already had them to hand and it could tuck under the skin fold to keep it dry.

C section overnight stay and a toddler

I will have an elective c section for my second baby (same as my first).

With my first, my partner stayed with me in the hospital overnight and helped me a lot with the baby so I had a pretty smooth recovery and was up and running 5 days postpartum.

Now, we need to decide if we should ask family members to come over (from abroad) and help with our toddler or we try to do the coordination/ management ourselves.

The hospital is only a 10 minute drive from our place and during the day my toddler will be at nursery (and my partner will be with me). I think I can handle 1-2 nights by myself at the hospital with the baby but I’m little concerned how would I lift the baby on day 1 given I will have a catheter. I don’t want to solely be relying on midwives. And if I fall asleep during the night, I’m also a bit worried about nobody looking after the baby.

You would think I would remember how it was the first night with my first but it’s all a blur.

What would you recommend if you had 2 c-sections and the same situation? Did you ask family to help?

Thanks!

Can someone describe contractions to me?

I’m having random pain in different parts of my belly and pelvis and I have a backache. I also had loose bowels earlier, and I feel baby girl moving super low in my pelvis. Is this early labour? My consultant OB wanted me to go to the local hospital at the first sign of labour (because I’m supposed to be delivering at a hospital farther away) but I was just there last night and basically no sign of labour. I don’t want to go for a false alarm.
Thanks!

Elective section before 39 weeks?

I've got elective section booked for 39+3, they won't do it any earlier because they don't do them before 39 weeks. They don't do them on weekends or certain days of the week apparently which is why earliest I can have is 39+3. I'm terrified of going into natural labour. Is this the same in most hospitals?

Growth

I went for a private scan 2 weeks ago but was only 5 weeks so they told me to come back in 2 weeks time, so today I went should be 7 weeks and baby is only measuring at 5 weeks 6 days. The sonographer was concern because they hadn’t grown as much as she’s liked. A heart beat was seen/ heard which is good & my sack was measuring 6 weeks 3 days.

I have to go again next week to check they have grown. Has anyone been through this and was everything okay in the end ??
