Is Partner allowed to stay overnight in ward?

Hey mums, I’m thinking of an elective c section in Whittington hospital. Does anyone know if my partner is allowed to stay with me overnight? I don’t have any other family members in London, and I’ve heard the hospital won’t offer a private room for C section. So wondering if they let my partner stay with me over night in a shared room or it’s gonna be a tough night me alone with a lot of pain and a newborn ?!

It's differs by hospital I believe. Mine doesn't allow partners to stay overnight. I'm having my c section on Tuesday, I definitely worried about being alone that first night, we got this though!

I gave birth NPH and he slept on a chair x

Depends on the hospital I believe, I had c sections with both my children and both in different hospitals, he was allowed to stay in both, the first was in a hospital with shared wards and the second we had our own room, we were in one day and out the next, I think if it’s usually a one night stay then they usually allow your partner to stay as your recovering and you’ll need help, I would just called the delivery ward of the hospital you plan on having the c section and asking, I don’t think they’ll say no personally though, your going to need help on that first night so realistically you need to have him there x

I didn't have a c section but had to stay overnight for 1 night due to blood loss with my son and my husband wasn't able to stay with me. Differs by hospital so if you want to check then ask your midwife in advance?

They can where I am but it’s a shit night sleep for the partners as it’s literally just a chair

I gave birth in Telford and my husband wasn't allowed to stay the night. Postnatal ward visiting was 8am-9pm (or something like that) so he could literally spend the whole day just not the night

Bump at 7 weeks

Does anyone else have a baby bump early? I'm sucking in to rule out any bloating in the picture.

I was due on April 2nd and baby boy arrived at 39 weeks after a positive induction on gas and air, too late for an epidural and 48 minutes in labour. 💙

magnesium glycinate! i’ve been taking it nightly with my prenatals and i have not had any of those brutal charlie horse leg cramps at night. i had quite a few my first pregnancy i didn’t take magnesium and im now almost 37 weeks with my second and have had none! it also helps me actually get some sleep at night. soo worth it!

Suspected Food Poisoning

I'm currently 28 weeks and away on holiday. Yesterday I made the mistake of eating a hot dog from one of the all inclusive trucks that are dotted around the pool areas (I know dumb choice). After about an hour I got super nauseous and uncomfortable. I tried to rest it off but it just lingered, I felt lethargic and went down for some dinner, I got as far as eating two pieces of cucumber and I couldn't put my finger on the feeling but my stomach was uncomfortable and I felt like crying - I didn't feel well at all. After attempting the third bit of cucumber I darted for the toilets as I felt sick or maybe needed to open my bowels (which I already had an hour before and it was normal). Anyway, turns out it was both. I vomited a large amount and went to the toilet multiple times. I cleaned myself up and sipped fresh water for a couple of hours before going to sleep. I also managed an orange and a couple of dry non sweet biscuits. I haven't visited the toilet overnight again but my stomach does occasionally get a wave of nausea. Baby has been active all evening through this, was active at night for a bit and seems to have started some wriggles this morning. Do I need to go find a hospital/maternity unit and get checked or do I just wait and see how I feel today? I'm hoping being able to hold something over night is a good sign. I also have gestational diabetes so am a little worried about my blood sugar dropping or not keeping it steady. Any advice would be appreciated.
