Because some turn into buttheads or cranky little monsters when woken up. And then some who just went to sleep will be up for hours after a 5 min power nap because grandma just had to wake them up for snuggles. And then Mom doesn’t get that critically needed nap.

if baby decided to start their night before you did a bedtime routine, don't wake them. if you didn't change a pee diaper and they are sleeping, it can wait (always change poo diapers tho). some people cap their babies naps at 2 hours so they sleep better at night, in my experience is not worth it 🤷‍♀️ that's what it is about!

Honestly I think it’s outdated advice. I follow a somewhat strict nap and feeding schedule and I’ve woken my babies up regularly to keep them on schedule, but because I’ve done this they’ve slept through the night by three months and both have generally been very happy easy babies. Obviously when they are sick or teething there’s some leeway there but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Basically there sleep is very important and if there sleeping longer then normal its because they need it and they might of had a bad night sleep or there getting sick and if we wake them its not a pretty picture

Ultimately just treat sleep as an important component of their growth- if you can let
Them sleep, let them sleep. That said, sometimes you need to wake them up and that’s that.

I also wake my 5 week old up to feed him if he’s taking a huge nap middle of the day but he jusr falls right back asleep

Because an overtired baby is all hell break lose

Many, many people will find they need to cap naps/limit daytime sleep to help with nighttime sleep. This really isn’t good advice IMO lol

i used to wake my son for feeds however he’d either fall asleep on the bottle or not drink a full feed. once i started letting him wake up in his own time, he was drinking his full bottle. in the hospital the midwives were very adamant that i wake him every 3 hours, but my health visitor said that feeding on demand is fine because he was gaining weight and he was drinking a good daily quantity of milk. ultimately it’s your choice as the parent whether you want to wake your baby or not, every baby is different and you may choose to wake them because it makes you feel better that they’re feeding on a regular basis. whatever works for you and baby!

I did that once. I have 3 boys and have never done it again. Hungry? They’ll tell you. Dirty diap? They’ll tell you. Wanting mama snuggles? They’ll tell you.
Some moms do. To each their own. Each child is also different. My younger two are autistic and don’t sleep so when they do, don’t you dare, cause mama bear coming with claws out 😅😅

Baby seats for trolleys, high chairs etc.

Has anyone got one of these from a brand they recommend? Not sure if Coco seat is a UK brand or what it's like as a company?

Thanks in advance!

Nappy leaks at night—what brands or tips work?

My 12 week old uses Aldi Mamia size 3 nappies during the day with no problems, but at night both Mamia and Pampers Premium Protection size 3 have leaked after a few hours. Has anyone got tips for nighttime leaks or recommendations for other brands or strategies?

Sleep regression or upping daytime intake?

My baby is 15 weeks on Saturday. He used to sleep 9ish-6am with only 1 wake for a feed. He’s now ready for bed at 7/7:30 and sleeping until 7am but waking for 3 feeds! He had dropped to 6 5oz bottle but has now added in an extra one at 11pm. I’ve tried him with some 6oz bottles in the day but he struggled with them. What’s going on? Do I need to ride it out or try and up his daytime intake?

Formula advice

I was just curious if anyone has switched formulas. My 12 week old baby has been on aptamil 1 since birth but due to crap mat pay and the prices of formula nowadays I was wondering if anyone can advise if they switched and (or) if they've used aptamil and changed; which brand did they switch to. Thanks mummas
