Where are you taking baby out atm while they are still just a few weeks old?
What age will you start taking them out properly e.g. to coffee shops, classes, theme parks (for older sibling), play dates, farm etc?

i’ve taken mine to the park, older siblings birthday party a few play dates, toddler stay and play, park, coffee shops started going out at about 2 weeks she is 5 weeks today. To the dentist 😅.

We’ve been to the park, coffee shops, pub lunches, shopping since baby was a few days old. We have a toddler and we’re a family who need to get out and about a lot 😁

Ive taken mine on some walks, and to my mums&my grannys & we have also went to town around some shops & grocery shopping!
Plan to start baby classes around 8ish weeks i felt it was a good age for it with my first x
Do any of you worry about them being around strangers or do you feel they are quite safe? I just don't know what it right in terms of raking them out before vaccinations and don't want him to get sick. I especially worry in environments around lots of toddlers that are always sick x

I have a 5 year old so staying in the house wasn’t an option! After a week we’ve been to the park, shops etc. It’s half term now so we’ll likely go to soft play but baby will stay in her pushchair and if a stranger approaches id ask them to back off!
Personally it would be very bad for my mental health to stay in the house until the vaccinations x

In first 2 weeks we went to coffee shops, out for lunch, play cafe, play date with my 3yo, day trips etc.
Much better to get out and do things. Plus need to entertain 3yo x

My baby is 6 weeks today and we've only gone to the park for 15-30 mins. She was born on the 1st centile so is quite small, I'm waiting until she is a bit bigger and has been vaccinated! I guess it's different if you have other children as you can't really put your life on hold for 8 weeks, kids will bring illnesess home regardless etc

We have been since day two 😂 but then we have a toddler too who still needs entertaining
my fiancée works full time in hospitality so his shifts aren’t consistent, some are late some are early but how does this mean he doesn’t do anything around the house or even help with baby. he’ll only take my son when he’s sleeping and whilst he’s sleeping i tidy the house and as soon as baby wakes he passes him back to me. i’ve tried to tell him how it makes me feel and it just turns into an argument. i don’t even see him anymore as he’s always playing games with his friends. i feel alone in a relationship. i’m so tired

I’m friends with a mum from church and we both have 3 year olds and we’ve both applied for the same schools for them to go to next year. She has a son and I have a daughter and he’s very naughty. He will make other children cry/ he won’t share toys he’s playing with or he will shout when my daughter says hello to him he will just look away and say no! They have a play kitchen at church and the other day he was playing there and when my daughter went to join in he basically guarded the whole kitchen and toys with his arms so that she couldn’t get to it. Any tips on this? Firstly how to deal with kids who don’t share with your child and how to communicate this to my daughter. Also, would you be friends with a mum if their child misbehaved? It’s not terribly bad but I want to prepare myself now that my daughter will be getting ready for school on how to deal with things like this without making it into a big deal. Bearing in mind they are 3! (Nearly 4)

Has anyone else been entirely disappointed with their sendoff from Work? This is my second baby, the sendoff last time was poor anyway, a quick battered gift and shout out in a team meeting, but I didn’t think it could get any worse. I remember my husband being made a fuss of at his work last time, and thought it was so lovely!
I’ve been there for seven years. They’ve gradually replaced team members with younger and younger team. I’m in a team of about 30 and most are in their early 20s enjoying London life, no one really gets having a baby.
The handful that do have kids, they’re pretty much all uni age, and I feel like they’ve completely forgot what a big deal it is
I finished two days ago, just got some flowers in the post from my team with a pretty generic message about how much I’ll be missed. I see E cards go around for peoples birthdays with bespoke messages from individuals and I didn’t even get that. There was no shout out or farewell messages on the last day despite it being in everyone’s diaries.
I get on hugely with everyone in the team, I feel like a well liked outsider, the strange person in their 30s having kids. And it’s almost felt like an inconvenience to everyone that I’m pregnant. Lots of ‘can you not come into the office more’, really not acknowledging how uncomfortable a long commute is
One person even said to me that I should’ve put in a leaving lunch myself and how nice it would have been. When I first joined the company, these were always arranged by other people and we would have little Work baby showers with games and gifts, they were so cute. Would feel quite self absorbed putting my own Work baby shower in the diary 🙃
It’s all really disheartening. I do the request to send them pictures once babies here, kind of want to delete them all off Instagram to be honest!

My toddler will be 2.5 years old when my next baby is born. She hasn’t gone to nursery yet and always had a nanny however she has been “ready” for nursery since she turned about 2. I want to send her but I am so worried about her getting sick while she is adjusting to nursery and passing that on to the newborn who will have a much weaker immune system.
Has anyone else sent their toddler to nursery for the first time while having a newborn and how did you manage all the illnesses/sicknesses they get while settling in?

Any ideas on what I can buy my daughter for Christmas she will be 6 months old? I know she won’t understand but it’s her first Christmas and I want to make it special and buy her some sensory / development toys 😊

At first, my husband and I both agreed that we wouldn’t send our children to daycare. But my son has a bit of speech delayed and we are on the waiting list for Headstart. I brought it up with my husband to enroll our child in daycare due to the fact that it has been very difficult to make friends or to meet people who have kids about his age.
