Need encouragement

I'm 3 months postpartum and I'm struggling with getting back to normal. I just feel like I can't do anything right anymore. I get anxious just even walking outside now. I have been locked in my room for a week now and I feel like I'm letting my family down. I just don't know how to pick myself up.

It sounds like you have anxiety. I strongly suggest you reach out to the postpartum mental health team. I myself had to for anxiety. They would probably suggest SSRIs and I didn't take any but exposure therapy helps

Take little steps. Write a realistic plan like walk to the end of the road, go to a family members home where you feel safe etc… and build up to usual outings.
I would also reach out to your gp/health visitor for some proper help postpartum anxiety/ depression is very common and there’s help if you want it.

I hope things gets better for you soon

One step at a time
Tomorrow as soon as you wake up put a timer to go out for 5 minutes then come back just 5 and day by day
Take a 3 minutes shower
Activity by Activity you will get better inshala❤️❤️
After the 6 months it will be easier and day by day the load will be more familiar

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

I’ve just seen this and thought YES to everything so thought I’d share! As a second time mum I had all of these and almost gave up because of the first one!!

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!
