Today was my husband's day off and he woke up around 6 having coffee in bed and was on his phone. . At 7 a.m my little boy woke up and asked to go pee then at 7:30 asked to eat. I then took him and went downstairs to make breakfast and he got so frustrated and started an argument that on his day off he can't relax. I must say he was not sleeping, he was just staring at his phone and now he ignores my child and me.

His "day off" is a day off work. It's not a day off parenting or housework.

Sounds like all he needed was a little empathy

We take turns waking up with the kids. So mine are up at 6am, every other day I get up with them while my husband sleeps in (7:30ish, 8-8:30 on the weekend) and vice versa. It’s a great system that works well for us. We both work full time.

I’m confused what he’s trying to pick a fight/argue about?
Having to slightly care for his child instead of doom scroll on his phone?
Meh.
His priorities are icky.

So you and the child must be confined to the room in order for him to enjoy his day off? Men say they want families then act like this when they make one. Im still confused as to why he is upset and disturbed when you are handling everything. Just because you guys exist at home ? 🤔

I get all the defensiveness but the assumption that men shouldn't get frustrated is unrealistic. I said "it sounds like" because he's disengaged after not being heard. It doesn't sound like he was doing anything wrong before that

The comments are ridiculous.
She isn't saying he doesnt deserve a break. She is saying that today is his day off and he spent his morning scrolling on his phone and sipping hot coffee for an hour. She had no issue with this. Then their child woke up and needed to potty and SHE helped. Then 30min later said child was hungry...yk because hes a human being...and she got up to feed him. No complaints there. But somehow her husband got angry enough because his peace was disturbed and is now giving them the silent treatment because she didnt let him relax....
No, dont ignore him aswell. But address these because wtf did he want you to do? Have the child soil themselves? Have the child go hungry? Have the child stay in their room? Like ask him what how he would have liked to address the potty and the feeding because you took those on and offered him to continue having a lay in...a day off work does not mean you get the day off being a parent. Take turns, for sure.

No one gets a ‘day off’ when you have kids!

Give him what he wants, just ignore him. Make plans with your child and do them. Start living your life like that. Let him find out what life is like when he is de-centered
If you work in childcare - a teacher / nursery practitioner. What Christmas gift you genuinely want?
I don’t want to buy my sons nursery baby staff a box of chocolate

Has anyone been to Peppa Pig World / poultons park on their own with a toddler before? I want to take my 2 year old (25 months) but his Dad doesn't have any annual leave left, and it seems quite expensive to ask grandparents to come along.
Also, would you take a buggy? I fear having to chase after my toddler with a buggy in tow would be a pain, so thinking not?

My 29 month old has never been very adventurous with her food and wouldn’t often try new stuff although she eats whatever at nursery. She had sickness 2-3 weeks ago and ever since, even her safe food she won’t touch. She’s asks for pizza and eats only the cheese. Her eating is really starting to upset me and stress me out. Every night I cook a meal and she cries at it and pushes it away.
I don’t know what more I can do

I never planned on having my daughter watch screens this early, but we wanted her to sleep with loud sounds right away so she's used to it and wouldn't wake up from small things and it definitely worked. She is just like my fiancé it makes me laugh sometimes. The way she sleeps and eats is just like him too. She’ll sit in her bouncer or swing and watch SpongeBob for hours now. It's her favorite show and I can’t get over it. she even laughs and reacts to it, it's so funny. It calms her down when she’s fussy sometimes, and she really loves the music. I can't wait until she's older so i can show her what my favorite shows were growing up, like strawberry shortcake🍓 or the barbie movies 💗
Do any of your little ones have a show they're interested in yet? Or specific music they like?

I am struggling already money wise, with Christmas, kids birthdays, bills, cannot go back to work sooner as there's no spare money for childcare costs and I have no village outside of us and nursery would be the only way.
But I just feel really miffed and husband doesn't seem worried about it, he has a job but just over minimum wage. Still expects 50/50 split, worried I won't be able to afford Christmas until new year but said I would pay it back later date.
I just don't know what to do. I have spoken to him he seems to just laugh is he really just going to watch me go into debt willingly? Then the next breath he wants to do things like coffee etc on our days off together I don't have the money obviously. He is just tight fisted and hella selfish. My mum would help me but she is under mental health section. LIKE genuinely what should I do ? Sell all my stuff or ?

So I have older children (15,10) I now have a 5 month old, I decided to wean at 4 months. But now the guidelines are strictly 6 months….Anyone eles started at 4 months? I did tiny spoons of baby 4+ porridge in the morning (3 max) soon as she turned 4 months. Now at 5 months she wants food! She loves food! I’m still only doing 5 maybe tiny spoons of say baby porridge in the morning, and blended veg in the eve while we have our tea. She still has 4/5 bottles during the day and her bedtime bottle.
In the next few weeks up to 6 months I plan to do blw where she helps herself to soft solids.
Please no judgement just interested to know if there’s many other people who weaned (a little!) from 4 months? 🙂
