So I have older children (15,10) I now have a 5 month old, I decided to wean at 4 months. But now the guidelines are strictly 6 months….Anyone eles started at 4 months? I did tiny spoons of baby 4+ porridge in the morning (3 max) soon as she turned 4 months. Now at 5 months she wants food! She loves food! I’m still only doing 5 maybe tiny spoons of say baby porridge in the morning, and blended veg in the eve while we have our tea. She still has 4/5 bottles during the day and her bedtime bottle.
In the next few weeks up to 6 months I plan to do blw where she helps herself to soft solids.
Please no judgement just interested to know if there’s many other people who weaned (a little!) from 4 months? 🙂

Wait what do you mean wean like no milk at all? Sorry I was confused
Gosh no definitely not. Just introducing…… letting her taste etc puréed of course.
Thankyou!! 7 months, wow , maybe I’m just rushing the baby stage 😩

Yep, you are rushing into this. There is only risk, not benefit, to introducing before a baby is ready. Choking risk, gut challenges, forcing them to start something they aren’t yet interested in.
The guidelines have never been 4 months. That was pushed by the baby food companies. Wait until baby has met the developmental milestones, which happens around 6 months for most. Unless your kiddo has a medical necessity for starting earlier, 4 months is simply too early.
It was the health visitor who Infact told me to start due to reflux, changing formula and no change etc.
but I hear you!
Thankyou for your advice on this may have to take a step back for a few weeks until 6 months 😑

I second what Claire has said! My baby also has reflux which is getting worse with age but I’ve spoke to other parents with reflux babies who said solids actually made very little difference to the reflux! So I’m waiting for 6 months. I weaned my first at 6 months too and avoided puree/ mushy food altogether.
Milk is their main source of nutrition until a year so it’s really vital that food doesn’t displace this and early weaning can lead to life long gut issues. HV’s often give advice they’re not qualified to give only a paediatrician or dietician should be giving the advice to wean early on medical grounds x
If you work in childcare - a teacher / nursery practitioner. What Christmas gift you genuinely want?
I don’t want to buy my sons nursery baby staff a box of chocolate
Ideas please

Has anyone been to Peppa Pig World / poultons park on their own with a toddler before? I want to take my 2 year old (25 months) but his Dad doesn't have any annual leave left, and it seems quite expensive to ask grandparents to come along.
Also, would you take a buggy? I fear having to chase after my toddler with a buggy in tow would be a pain, so thinking not?

Am I being lazy? I’m 23 weeks pregnant… cooking isn’t my favorite thing anymore I’m always just wanting to be in bed. I work from 4:30pm to 12:30am and get home after 1am. I end up going to sleep around 2-3am after showering and trying to force myself to sleep.
My husband has been complaining I rather buy food out than cook when I truly have no energy to cook. He said plenty of woman get up to make sure their husband has a meal to come home too. But I just don’t have the energy!
I used to wake up in the mornings (before this job) and make him breakfast and have lunch ready for him packed up at 5:30am for him to take to work. I stopped. Again just trying to get rest in. Idk how to find the energy or if I’m just making this up in my head. Definitely starting to make me feel like a shitty wife.
Also I did complain about dishes. Sunday night I cleaned the whole house, did All laundry folded, and cleaned the kitchen but left dishes in the sink thinking he would see how I did everything I just needed him to wash those dishes. He claimed I cooked made a mess and didn’t wash the dishes I used… you would think if I cooked he would meet me half way instead I’m being blamed.
How do yall do it?

My 29 month old has never been very adventurous with her food and wouldn’t often try new stuff although she eats whatever at nursery. She had sickness 2-3 weeks ago and ever since, even her safe food she won’t touch. She’s asks for pizza and eats only the cheese. Her eating is really starting to upset me and stress me out. Every night I cook a meal and she cries at it and pushes it away.
I don’t know what more I can do

I am struggling already money wise, with Christmas, kids birthdays, bills, cannot go back to work sooner as there's no spare money for childcare costs and I have no village outside of us and nursery would be the only way.
But I just feel really miffed and husband doesn't seem worried about it, he has a job but just over minimum wage. Still expects 50/50 split, worried I won't be able to afford Christmas until new year but said I would pay it back later date.
I just don't know what to do. I have spoken to him he seems to just laugh is he really just going to watch me go into debt willingly? Then the next breath he wants to do things like coffee etc on our days off together I don't have the money obviously. He is just tight fisted and hella selfish. My mum would help me but she is under mental health section. LIKE genuinely what should I do ? Sell all my stuff or ?
