Hi, I plan to pump and feed from a bottle when baby is here because I failed with breast feeding with my last baby but my question is what do I do when baby is first born? I know milk can take a few days to come in, do you use formula until then? I can’t remember with it being so long ago x

You may be surprised to find more support to just feed this time round.
I certainly did. My kids are 15/11&11 months old
It’s best to try and get bay to boob to stimulate your milk coming in for the first few days x

For my first I couldn’t bf for the first day or two we had a box of aptamil for emergency and only used one bottle as nothing was coming through at all. We still kept putting little one on boob as well as pumping just to regulate the milk and get baby used to latching on. Also stored some colostrum in the freezer few days before due date but I remember the nurse saying we shouldn’t get used to using the syringe as better for baby to latch directly. You can always request to see a lactation nurse / consultant who will be able to advise you.
