Today was day 1 of potty training our 21 month old via the "Oh Crap" method. We also have a 3 month old.
All I can say as the day comes to an end is that was absolute carnage.
She stayed naked all day, fine. We had bed pads and towels everywhere, and tried to keep as calm and positive as possible. However, we had soo many accidents, despite looking out for signs, she just goes. She did go once or twice on the potty, but we had to take her there ourselves and sometimes keep her there as she peed because she tried to run off. She becomes scared when she needs to go, and cries when we take her to the potty, despite all the encouragement and positive reward. She's obviously holding it in too, and is crying from discomfort.
What's everyone else's day 1 experience? Any tips or advice for tomorrow?

I wouldn't worry that she's holding, mine held it to the extent she was only doing 3 wees a day for the first 5 days of potty training. If yours has had multiple accidents and a few successes then she's still doing quite a few. Did you read all the oh crap book? Because it does say the first few days are more for information gathering purposes. For some kids it clicks immediately, some it takes longer. Overnight there will be time for both you and her to process. It's always going to be stressful because it's a big thing, I decided to stick with it because we waited until ours was 3 and after those first days it's gone really well. I'd say yours is young enough that you could decide to try again when she's a bit older. I personally wouldn't be forcing her to stay on the potty to go if she's really upset. Better that she wees herself and learns from that. Then it's a simple "uh oh, wees go in the toilet or potty now". I'd also put away all those towels and whatever, get carpet cleaner if you have carpets.

I have a different big tip for you: please look into EC elimination communication for your 3 month old
I started my boy with 3 months old and by 1 year 95% of his number 2's went into the potty. It's a dream and saves you tons of diapers. Please try!
