Sending child to nursery while you’re at home..

What is everyone’s opinion on this?
For the record, I work 7.30-4.30 Monday to Thursday and my 11 month old goes to nursery 2 days a week on the 30 free childcare hours.
I’ve been thinking of asking my nursery if I can put my baby in on a Friday, even if it’s just for half a day. I’m so shattered and the house is a tip. She’s never been the happiest baby either from birth and I feel like I’m running on so little fumes now, it would be nice to have a couple of hours to myself to sort the house/ batch cook dinners etc but I feel like doing this massive awful thing by doing this. She’s just never happy and cries majority of the day and I think I just need a little break every now and again to keep my sanity…

I think if it makes you happier you will have more energy for her. You have to look after yourself for her

My son goes to nursery on a Monday morning and I don’t work on that day. That’s my day to sort the house out and have some much needed chill time. No regrets.. they have so much fun at nursery!

I see absolutely zero issues in this at all apart from how much it will cost you 😆 but absolutely do it if you can!!!

I book annual leave on nursery says so I can have a break, get her booked in even for a morning session like you said to catch up or have. Mental break

Yes! I did this with my son as no one that could have him.. it was a godsend because otherwise you cant get anything done. Happy mum happy child x

Absolutely no problem with this. Kids love nursery, learn so much and make friends, which in turn means you make mum friends 😀. Im currently on mat leave and my little one goes every day. He comes back home and tells us all about the fun he had and what him and his friends played with. The house is tidy, lunch and dinner is cooked, had a long shower, had a nap or Netflix binge 😉. Perfect. Our nursery allow you to take the kids off as well so if i want to do a play group on a Friday I can just not send him in and then obviously all the school holidays he's off, so lots of fun as a family to be had

I support it 💪🏻
My LO goes to nursery 3 days a week and it's been a good break. I can actually get things done. She is with us full time the other 4 days so all is well

Weaning!?

So I have older children (15,10) I now have a 5 month old, I decided to wean at 4 months. But now the guidelines are strictly 6 months….Anyone eles started at 4 months? I did tiny spoons of baby 4+ porridge in the morning (3 max) soon as she turned 4 months. Now at 5 months she wants food! She loves food! I’m still only doing 5 maybe tiny spoons of say baby porridge in the morning, and blended veg in the eve while we have our tea. She still has 4/5 bottles during the day and her bedtime bottle.
In the next few weeks up to 6 months I plan to do blw where she helps herself to soft solids.
Please no judgement just interested to know if there’s many other people who weaned (a little!) from 4 months? 🙂

Favorite shows yet?

I never planned on having my daughter watch screens this early, but we wanted her to sleep with loud sounds right away so she's used to it and wouldn't wake up from small things and it definitely worked. She is just like my fiancé it makes me laugh sometimes. The way she sleeps and eats is just like him too. She’ll sit in her bouncer or swing and watch SpongeBob for hours now. It's her favorite show and I can’t get over it. she even laughs and reacts to it, it's so funny. It calms her down when she’s fussy sometimes, and she really loves the music. I can't wait until she's older so i can show her what my favorite shows were growing up, like strawberry shortcake🍓 or the barbie movies 💗

Do any of your little ones have a show they're interested in yet? Or specific music they like?

Weaning Advice!

My LO started weaning on purées at about 4.5months (under doctor advice as he was a hungry boy and had reflux), we’re now introducing BLW as he’s 6 months old but I’m just wondering how many meals I should be offering him a day? With purées, he started on once a day but now has them 2-3 times a day along with his usual milk intake. Is this too much? He’s not sick and has always been a generally hungry baby but there’s so much conflicting information and I don’t want to be overfeeding him either as I have a feeling he’s going to be a greedy boy! 🤣
