If you woke up before your kids and had to stay quiet would you...

Just wondering what everyone else would do in my shoes. I made myself a tea and I can't go back to sleep, but sitting in silence isn't as easy as I thought it would be 😅

I’d just get up lol, I can’t stay in bed once I’m awake

I’d have my coffee and probably put on a yoga tutorial on YouTube and follow that. Stretching helps me but I usually do it at night when baby sleeps as I’m never ever up before baby. Ever 😂 I’m a night owl. Baby IS my alarm, and I’m not a morning person. Which also means I dress up and go out on an Friday night while hubby puts baby to bed for me. But if I DID I’d do some yoga like I do at night. 10mins of quiet stretching feels amazing

I usually read

Take me time, read, take a bath, exercise, make a snack

I just make a cuppa and pop the telly on with the volume down 😅 I wish I could go back to sleep but once I'm up that's it for me.

I have headphones I wear like all the time lol they connect to our tv so if I really wanna watch something I can just listen to the audio privately, or I just straight up watch stuff on my phone with my headphones on.

I also take showers if I wake up before everybody else

Read a book with a cup of tea. I actually love love love starting my day like this! Calm before the storm

It depends on how early it is. If it's early enough, I'd go back to sleep. If it's too late for me to fall back asleep, I'd either scroll on my phone or maybe even go to the kitchen table and do my adult coloring books while playing music from my phone at a very low volume. So relaxing. ❤️

I play on my phone. Doom scroll.

I’m not waking up before my kids. I try my best not to wake up even after they’re awake 🫠

Love everyone's honesty on just going back to sleep 😂

Read, Bible study, make tea, pray or meditate. But that’s if I was fully up, I’d probably go back to sleep

Read my book

Avatar

take a chance to read the book I've been trying to finish for a week 😂

I’m always up earlier than the kids. I make coffee and scroll, read, do some light cleaning, sometimes I do fall back asleep also lol.

I always wake up a few hours before my daughter, and just start my day. I hate waking up at the same time and having her around while doing my morning routine. It completely throws me off.

Healing advice

Hi everyone!

I had my first baby 8 days ago and unfortunately the birth didn’t quite go to plan, needing suction and an episiotomy.

I’ve been in so much pain and upon getting my stitches checked have found that the wound has opened and cannot be re-stitched due to risk of infection.

Has anyone experienced this? I’m looking for some advice on how long I can expect to be in this pain as something to work towards 🤞🏼

The pesky 4:30–6:30am feed… how do we break the cycle? 😴

Hi mums! I have an almost 6-month-old, and I think we’ve been pretty lucky with sleep so far.

We have a solid bedtime routine, and he’s getting better at going down drowsy but awake. He usually settles himself, and overnight he might stir once or twice, but a quick dummy replacement normally does the trick.

Our current struggle is this pesky early morning feed! For the last 2–3 weeks, he’s been waking anywhere between 4:30 and 6:30am. We try the dummy, but he spits it out and keeps stirring every 15 minutes until we eventually pick him up and give him a feed. He doesn’t always take a full feed, but after 15–20 minutes he goes straight back to sleep until around 8am.

He has three naps during the day, usually anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and he’s feeding well throughout the day, so I don’t think it’s down to him not getting enough milk.

The problem is that by the time he’s back asleep, I’m pretty much up for the day, so it’s really affecting my sleep! Previously, he’d sleep until around 7am, which was much more manageable.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Do we keep offering the dummy and hope he eventually drops this feed, or is he genuinely hungry and we should just accept it for now? Would love to hear what worked for you! ❤️

Ferber sleep training 6.5 month old

Hi everyone! My LO is 6.5 months old. Sleeps from 7pm-7am and is currently on 2/3 naps a day. He can’t be put down without rocking and patting each time, so I was considering this method. I just wanted a little insight on this method!

Milk at 1

Hi my baby is 1 tomorrow and I’ve just had my HV appointment who basically said she doesn’t need milk anymore now not even cows milk but obviously if she can’t drop it then swap it for cows milk.

How many bottles are your 12 months having? And also what bottle do you put it in?

We’ve still got about half a tub of formula so I’m going to use that first anyways.

Sex before 6 weeks postpartum

Genuinely.. has anybody had sex before 6 weeks postpartum? I really really wanted to wait but my sex drive has been to the fricken moon and I caved in a few days ago and for some reason I feel really guilty about it 😔 I’m 4 weeks postpartum, had a vaginal delivery with no tears or stitches. And I completely stopped bleeding a few days before I had sex. Is there even a point in waiting an extra 2 weeks since the deed is done or..? 😭

Pressured into breastfeeding?

Just had my 32 week midwife appointment I explained my reasons for not wanting to breastfeed and it almost felt like she wouldn’t take not for an answer. She was trying to scare me telling me all these negatives about formula feeding. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It filled me with so much anxiety!
