Just had my 32 week midwife appointment I explained my reasons for not wanting to breastfeed and it almost felt like she wouldn’t take not for an answer. She was trying to scare me telling me all these negatives about formula feeding. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It filled me with so much anxiety!

Please make a complaint to pals there is no reason any pressure should be placed on the way your deciding to feed

First time mum and haven't had this experience but wanted to offer reassurance that I have 2 beautiful grown nieces who were both 100% formula fed without a problem! Do not listen to them - you know your reasons and what will be best for you & baby xx

there’s no inherent issue with formula feeding however there are undeniable benefits to breast feeding that you simply can’t get through formula so i imagine she’s coming from a place of care but it’s completely upto you at the end of the day how you feed your own babies x

Random question but I wonder if anyone has been told the answer. Do you have to get babies vaccinated earlier if you dont breastfeed as they dont get any MDA's?

Ignore midwife. Make your own decisions x

It’s part of a midwife’s role to educate on breastfeeding, as the rates are shockingly low and have multiple health benefits over formula feeding for both mum and baby.
However for you to feel like this she must have come down on you really hard, just choose whatever you want. Ignore her.
Hi everyone!
I had my first baby 8 days ago and unfortunately the birth didn’t quite go to plan, needing suction and an episiotomy.
I’ve been in so much pain and upon getting my stitches checked have found that the wound has opened and cannot be re-stitched due to risk of infection.
Has anyone experienced this? I’m looking for some advice on how long I can expect to be in this pain as something to work towards 🤞🏼

Hi mums! I have an almost 6-month-old, and I think we’ve been pretty lucky with sleep so far.
We have a solid bedtime routine, and he’s getting better at going down drowsy but awake. He usually settles himself, and overnight he might stir once or twice, but a quick dummy replacement normally does the trick.
Our current struggle is this pesky early morning feed! For the last 2–3 weeks, he’s been waking anywhere between 4:30 and 6:30am. We try the dummy, but he spits it out and keeps stirring every 15 minutes until we eventually pick him up and give him a feed. He doesn’t always take a full feed, but after 15–20 minutes he goes straight back to sleep until around 8am.
He has three naps during the day, usually anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and he’s feeding well throughout the day, so I don’t think it’s down to him not getting enough milk.
The problem is that by the time he’s back asleep, I’m pretty much up for the day, so it’s really affecting my sleep! Previously, he’d sleep until around 7am, which was much more manageable.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Do we keep offering the dummy and hope he eventually drops this feed, or is he genuinely hungry and we should just accept it for now? Would love to hear what worked for you! ❤️

Hi everyone! My LO is 6.5 months old. Sleeps from 7pm-7am and is currently on 2/3 naps a day. He can’t be put down without rocking and patting each time, so I was considering this method. I just wanted a little insight on this method!

Hi my baby is 1 tomorrow and I’ve just had my HV appointment who basically said she doesn’t need milk anymore now not even cows milk but obviously if she can’t drop it then swap it for cows milk.
How many bottles are your 12 months having? And also what bottle do you put it in?
We’ve still got about half a tub of formula so I’m going to use that first anyways.

Genuinely.. has anybody had sex before 6 weeks postpartum? I really really wanted to wait but my sex drive has been to the fricken moon and I caved in a few days ago and for some reason I feel really guilty about it 😔 I’m 4 weeks postpartum, had a vaginal delivery with no tears or stitches. And I completely stopped bleeding a few days before I had sex. Is there even a point in waiting an extra 2 weeks since the deed is done or..? 😭
