Sex before 6 weeks postpartum

Genuinely.. has anybody had sex before 6 weeks postpartum? I really really wanted to wait but my sex drive has been to the fricken moon and I caved in a few days ago and for some reason I feel really guilty about it 😔 I’m 4 weeks postpartum, had a vaginal delivery with no tears or stitches. And I completely stopped bleeding a few days before I had sex. Is there even a point in waiting an extra 2 weeks since the deed is done or..? 😭

I’m so curious about this!

My mom did. She got a bad infection, nearly died, and ended up with an emergency hysterectomy. Do not recommend.

I did at 3 weeks, I had stopped bleeding at that point. Had 2nd degree tear but that felt ok, just needed lots of lubricant. For me it was all fine but I get why they say wait 6 weeks because of the plate sized wound in your uterus where your placenta was. Personally I was ok not waiting, but it’s everyone’s own decision, don’t feel guilty about it!

the risk of infection isn’t worth it babes. i work in the only level 1 trauma hospital in my region and we see ALOT. you quite literally have a wound the size of a dinner plate in your uterus as it shrinks and heals post birth. play some tunes, get a massage and have that man use his other tools to complete the mission.

There is no longer a “rule” about waiting 6 weeks to have sex. It’s when you feel comfortable and ready to do it.

C-section here. I did at I think 2 weeks pp. I honestly felt up for it on the first night home but there was no way my partner was gonna be up for that and I knew really that that was not a good idea. We took it very slowly and gentle and it was absolutely fine. No problems at all. You know your own body.

I had sex 3 weeks post partum. I had a vaginal birth with 3 grazes, but they healed 2 weeks postpartum. My sex drive was insane the day we got home from hospital. So, i got the implant 10 days post partum and had sex 3 weeks post partum. We took it slow at first, just to see whether we could. I was a little tender for a day or 2 after though. Hope this helps 😊

You have a wound that needs to heal. And it can get an infection from sticking stuff up there. And if you aren’t using protection that it could be worse. Also if you aren’t using protection or birth control you can get pregnant right away. Which can also be dangerous because of the placenta wound

Dont do it anymore just wait because the issue isnt if u had stitches its because theres a dinner plate sized wound inside your uterus and your posing a chance for infection bc obviously a penis is not sterile.

Healing advice

Hi everyone!

I had my first baby 8 days ago and unfortunately the birth didn’t quite go to plan, needing suction and an episiotomy.

I’ve been in so much pain and upon getting my stitches checked have found that the wound has opened and cannot be re-stitched due to risk of infection.

Has anyone experienced this? I’m looking for some advice on how long I can expect to be in this pain as something to work towards 🤞🏼

The pesky 4:30–6:30am feed… how do we break the cycle? 😴

Hi mums! I have an almost 6-month-old, and I think we’ve been pretty lucky with sleep so far.

We have a solid bedtime routine, and he’s getting better at going down drowsy but awake. He usually settles himself, and overnight he might stir once or twice, but a quick dummy replacement normally does the trick.

Our current struggle is this pesky early morning feed! For the last 2–3 weeks, he’s been waking anywhere between 4:30 and 6:30am. We try the dummy, but he spits it out and keeps stirring every 15 minutes until we eventually pick him up and give him a feed. He doesn’t always take a full feed, but after 15–20 minutes he goes straight back to sleep until around 8am.

He has three naps during the day, usually anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and he’s feeding well throughout the day, so I don’t think it’s down to him not getting enough milk.

The problem is that by the time he’s back asleep, I’m pretty much up for the day, so it’s really affecting my sleep! Previously, he’d sleep until around 7am, which was much more manageable.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Do we keep offering the dummy and hope he eventually drops this feed, or is he genuinely hungry and we should just accept it for now? Would love to hear what worked for you! ❤️

Ferber sleep training 6.5 month old

Hi everyone! My LO is 6.5 months old. Sleeps from 7pm-7am and is currently on 2/3 naps a day. He can’t be put down without rocking and patting each time, so I was considering this method. I just wanted a little insight on this method!

Is anyone exclusively breastfeeding?

My baby boy is 7 weeks and I’m exclusively breastfeeding which has restricted me going out for long

I tried pumping and can only get 40-50ml using Momcozy m5

Baby refused to take bottle
What should I do? And is there any better way/time to use the pumps?

Milk at 1

Hi my baby is 1 tomorrow and I’ve just had my HV appointment who basically said she doesn’t need milk anymore now not even cows milk but obviously if she can’t drop it then swap it for cows milk.

How many bottles are your 12 months having? And also what bottle do you put it in?

We’ve still got about half a tub of formula so I’m going to use that first anyways.
