Is anyone exclusively breastfeeding?

My baby boy is 7 weeks and I’m exclusively breastfeeding which has restricted me going out for long

I tried pumping and can only get 40-50ml using Momcozy m5

Baby refused to take bottle
What should I do? And is there any better way/time to use the pumps?

Is the flange size correct on the pump?

If baby won’t take a bottle (I’ve had 2 bottle refusers) there isn’t much use to the milk anyway. What bottle are you trying, who’s giving the bottle, is it pace fed?

You can leave them just only for short bursts x

I'm exclusively breastfeeding too & have a momcozy pump ( not sure what model). I pump early in the morning when my supply is the most. My baby used to take a bottle but now refuses too, it's hard not being able to leave her for very long 😔 But we haven't given up with the bottle yet. We did a bait and switch technique which worked really well for a while ( I would breastfeed lying on the bed then my husband would sneak behind and give her the bottle 🤣).

I’m EBF and i just feed her in public. My child’s needs are greater than anyone’s judgment. Throw a light blanket over your shoulder and baby and do your thing girl 🩷

Is there a local breastfeeding support group near you? They are called BABES where I am. Could be called that nationally. But they could help. I could never pump as I was getting v little too. And had a bottle refuser but I just sort of gave up and carried on breastfeeding. Wish I’d gotten more help from my health visitor or BABES though to tackle some of the issues. Don’t feel like you can’t leave baby for short bursts. Just got to work out a good system for you and baby

I’m EBF my 12 weeks old and we’ve not tried a bottle yet. We had to introduce one early with our son because he had a big weight loss, so I expressed from early and he just took to a bottle fine.

You never need to offer a breastfed baby anymore that 4oz at a time and that’s based on you leaving baby for around 3 hours, as long as the bottle is pace fed. So hopefully that relieves some anxiety you’re having over the amount you’re producing. Remember, you’ll need to pump to replace the feeds they’re missing, too.

For refusal, we always had it so I wasn’t around or the person giving the bottle or he would smell the milk on me. My husband also wore things that smelt like me too to help. I’d recommend sticking to a bottle brand because the constant changing can become expensive and also add to the problem!

How are you spending your days?

Out of curiosity, what do your days look like? I’m 4 weeks PP, I have 2 under 2 and my newborn is tiring me out. I’m waking up late with her (sometimes gone 10am). I go on short walks but most of the day there is a lot of feeding and cuddles. Is this normal for this stage? I feel a little guilty I’m waking up so late and not being more productive.

The pesky 4:30–6:30am feed… how do we break the cycle? 😴

Hi mums! I have an almost 6-month-old, and I think we’ve been pretty lucky with sleep so far.

We have a solid bedtime routine, and he’s getting better at going down drowsy but awake. He usually settles himself, and overnight he might stir once or twice, but a quick dummy replacement normally does the trick.

Our current struggle is this pesky early morning feed! For the last 2–3 weeks, he’s been waking anywhere between 4:30 and 6:30am. We try the dummy, but he spits it out and keeps stirring every 15 minutes until we eventually pick him up and give him a feed. He doesn’t always take a full feed, but after 15–20 minutes he goes straight back to sleep until around 8am.

He has three naps during the day, usually anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and he’s feeding well throughout the day, so I don’t think it’s down to him not getting enough milk.

The problem is that by the time he’s back asleep, I’m pretty much up for the day, so it’s really affecting my sleep! Previously, he’d sleep until around 7am, which was much more manageable.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Do we keep offering the dummy and hope he eventually drops this feed, or is he genuinely hungry and we should just accept it for now? Would love to hear what worked for you! ❤️

Colic, gas or hungry

My 12 week old is so fussy. Beyond what he has ever been before. He eats constantly every hour to 2. He’ll be happy most times after eating then out of no where just blow up. He’s so hard to get a nap in too. Is this the start of colic or his he just gassy or can he really just be constantly Hungry

Bottle transition

Hi everyone 👋 Can you recommend what you’ve used to transition from bottles for milk drinking? My 12 month old daughter drinks water from a Munchkin 360 cup, but a lot of it ends up in her bib! Hence why I don’t want to give her milk in it, because I won’t know how much she’s drunk (and she will feel short changed!) I know I’m meant to be making the switch, but I’m stuck on what to use…

Dealing with crying???

My 5 week old has started to become very grumpy and restless in the evenings (4-8pm). He will just cry and cry whilst resisting most forms of comfort.

The only thing that will stop him crying is breastfeeding. Rocking, cuddling, singing, bath etc will only soothe him for a minute and then he will be crying again.

I suffer from severe migraines and the crying is really getting to me. My husband does take over but we also have a toddler, need to cook dinner, tidy up and do the nighttime routine. This means I cannot avoid all of the crying with a migraine.

What worked for your baby? We have tried so many things but open to suggestions as I’m really struggling.

I do not think this is reflux of silent reflux. I am dairy free due to my own personal allergies so doubt it’s CMPA as no milk protein is being passed thought my breastmilk.
