To cancel my gym i need to prove that im pregnant (they want a scan photo). Now, from a company/business perspective I totally get it. However, how many women are cancelling their membership because they're pregnant? It feels icky. Like what if I had had a miscarriage before my scan - i'd have to prove that? What if I dont want to share my scan photo? I come and pee on a stick in front of you? It just feels a bit anti-woman and not well thought through

They shouldn’t need a reason it’s a service you can cancel.

I definitely feel like this somehow has to violate hippa.
I'm in the UK as well. I haven't had my scan yet - not sure whether to send it or not or complain 🤔

When you sign up they should have provided their contract with policies, terms and conditions. Look in there and see what would apply in your case.

I cancelled my gym membership when pregnant with my 1st baby as I was also moving house and it made sense. I didn’t have to provide any reason, let alone evidence!
Is this is your contract? Like you can cancel with no fees if you have a medical exemption?

wtf this makes no sense. You should be able to cancel without providing a reason.
They said it was in their terms and conditions so ive asked them to send that through. Looked through everything I was sent and cant find it so we'll see. I'm glad its not just me though - wasn't sure if I was overreacting

So weird 😭 is this David Lloyd by any chance

Just cancel it, you don't need to prove anything.

That's so odd, why would they need a reason? I simply don't want to go anymore.
Its like a 12 month contract but I explained im so effing tired I cant get out for a walk never mind the gym (i also have an 18month old lol) and then will i be at the gym when ive got a new born and a 2 year old ???
