GD

Hey!
I've just had my glucose test back and I've got Gestational Diabetes 😩 has anyone else been diagnosed/had it before?
I'm really struggling with coming to terms with it and anxious about how I'll manage it/what it'll mean for the rest of my pregnancy x

Same - happy to message. I got it at this stage in my first pregnancy too so I’m used to it 🙄

I had it I was diagnosed at 30 weeks! There’s a gestational diabetes group on here and on Facebook that was helpful x

Iv got GD at the moment I’m on week 12 of testing ( i got diagnosed at week 16). I had it with my first.
I was borderline with both but managed with my first though diet. This time around they have gave me metformin purely to get ahead of the game as I said I wouldn’t be able to inject myself. It’s going well tho all my readings are in range. Baby is right were he is suppose to be size wise, and my first was born on the 50th centile so smack bang in the middle! And he was born at 7lbs 8. Yey not to worry to much xx

I haven’t been diagnosed with it, but I have my test next week, anything anyone recommends doing / not doing? I’m super nervous 😬

I have GD 😊 meal planning isn’t the easiest.. at first it’s just finding what works for you & doesn’t spike your levels 😊
Try go for a 10min + walk after your meals & drink plenty..
sleep & stress can have an impact on your sugar levels too.. 🩷

Unfortunately for me I’ve been trying so hard but I’m still spiking so I’m starting insulin tomorrow 😊

Were you just randomly tested for it or did you have signs?

I got diagnosed with it last week and feel like I'm in a minefield! It's so hard to get your head around everything

Can anyone give me advice or tell me why?

Midwife rang me yesterday to book the first appointment.
I’m 4 month post partum so only seen her a few month ago. She sounded really pissed with me, asked multiple times if I wanted to carry on with the pregnancy. I’m 9 weeks on Monday.
This is my third baby.
Look I get why she’d sound pissed I’m aware your meant to wait and I’m aware of the risks. But this is her job and I felt really judged on the phone. ( This is not my question)

She said she’d book me in for Wednesday then I’ll get a scan a few days after at the most a week. I will not be 12 weeks then, Is it because this pregnancy is a high risk hence the early scan?

Advice

I’m 15 weeks pregnant, first time mum, I’ve had so many issues and scares this pregnancy so feel like every chance, twinge, pain or ache is just worrying.

I went to my gp yesterday as I’ve had bad backache and belly ache/ belly twinges the last week, I thought it could be a uti as I know they’re common in pregnancy but they said it was all clear, they gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics (amoxicillin) just incase but I woke up this morning and my back feels like I’m heavy on my period, I have pcos so my period pains where quite rough😩

Is this a normal feeling or should I be concerned?

Head down movements

Anyone that’s baby is head down, where do you feel your movements?
My movements are all felt pretty much on my left side, maybe like an inch above my belly button but on my left. Hiccups are felt there too. Some times can feel like squirming like really low down. Can’t tell if she’s still breech or not! I’ve got a presentation scan Monday to find out but still interested to find out where everyone’s movements are if head down, or even breech!
