Anyone going over their due date and considering an elective c-section?

Why have you booked a c section for so close to your due date out of interest?

Most first time mums give birth closer to 41 weeks so there’s a good chance you’re selling yourself short if you’re wanting a vaginal birth. My first was born at 41+5 x

I had an induction with my first that ended up in an emergency c section, so I’ve opted against an induction this time but willing to try VBAC. I’m 40w+2d at the minute and nothings happened so far, so I booked in today for a c-section at 40w+6d.

My midwife told me I wouldnt be able to opt for an elective c section if I wait out for natural labour. I was advised, if I wait it out and it doesn't happen it will be an induction as they wouldnt recommend I go overdue as my 1st baby had shoulder dystocia and was quite big. I guess it depends on the hospital, if I was you though I would wait and see if natural labour happens x

Hey I’m in the same situation. 41+1 days and I had my second sweep and only 1cm. I’m on the list for c section was suppose to be taken in today but they had a lot of emergencies so I’m hoping tomorrow is the day.
I was admitted last night due to other issues with me and the baby. I think after 41 weeks they will talk to you about being induce anyway. Message me if you like x

I am the same! I am overdue (40 weeks and 6 days) and I had an appointment with the consultant last week and I opt in for elective c section when I will be 41 weeks and 5 days! I knew that I didn’t want induced for the same reasons with you and when she explained to me the whole process, I was convinced that I don’t want to be inducted! She said that it’s a long process and it can take up to a week! I hope he will come by then because I really want to have an unmedicated vagibal birth but it’s up to him 🤭
