C-section booked for my birthday!

I had an appointment this afternoon to book in my c-section, and the only date available is my birthday! They’re fully booked several days before and after.

On one hand, it could be a nice distraction as I’m really nervous about the surgery, I’d have something to talk/laugh about with the theatre staff. Tea and toast post birth could be tea and birthday cake! But I feel a great deal of sadness that my child won’t have a special day of their own.

This sort of thing can’t be helped with spontaneous labour, but it’s a shame it’s likely to be the outcome of my planned c-section! 😕

My baby is due 2 days before my birthday I felt the same as you that it wouldn’t be his own special day, so if he does decide to make an appearance on my birthday I’ve decided to push my birthday a day late so he can still have his own day. :) x

Ultrasound photos 🥲

Was hoping for that cute strip of baby photos to use for my shoot that I see everyone have.. instead my tech (who was a guy) gave me one of my baby and two leg photos……. WHYYYY

And I didn’t notice till after cause I was already cleaning up when he handed it to me.. I thought it was just standard practice and that I wouldn’t have to SPECIFY. And it sucks cause there were so many moments he showed me of my baby like sucking its thumb and stuff. So dissappointed.

C-section vs Vaginal delivery recovery

Hey guys, anyone who has women has experienced both a c-section and vaginal delivery, which was harder/more painful/worse for recovery?

Tubes tied during C-section.

So I went for my appointment today with the consultant to consent for my elective C-section.
He offered to sterilise me at the same time which caught me off guard as I never even thought of it 🤣

I mean it would be nice to not have to take contraception for the next 15/20 years but I’m a bit skeptical.

Has anyone had this done during their C-section and if so, how did you find the actual procedure and also the aftermath?

Thanks :)

Reduced movements UK

I am having frequent reduced movements, 32 weeks pregnant. I have extra monitoring and bi weekly CTGs. Can I request to have an earlier elective section because of this? Anyone in the UK thats had a similar experience?

Will anyone request to stay in hospital for additional night?

I did it last time and plan same thing this time. Regardless of where ill be, ill be exhausted and most probably tired. But if i stay in hospital, 1, im still under their care and 2, my husband will get chance to sleep properly and get some rest to take care of us and our toddler once were back home.
