C section infection

Hello! I’m currently almost 6 weeks postpartum. For 3 weeks I’ve been dealing with an infection in my c-section wound and it just doesn’t seem to be healing. I’m on my second round of antibiotics and also have a steroid cream but the infection isn’t clearing up and I’ve now noticed that part of the wound has opened slightly. Did anyone else have issues like this and if so, what help to solve it eventually? I’ve convinced myslef I’m never going to fully heal!

I went in for sepsis mind but when I was in hospital being treated. My wound full reopened. I had antibiotics, the cream and once it started to close a bit I had inadine dressings on it when covered that with another dressing and it healed and fully shut so quickly

I got the infection before I was released from the hospital. After leaving it took 3 days (a week after the csection) for ous to come out. They put a temporary wound vac on. So 1 week 1 day after my csection i ended up back in the hospital with a huge hole from the bacteria. I had to go to a wound care doctor for 5 months for it to fully heal. So I totally get feeling like it's taking forever. If its opening again I would try going to the hospital to show them.

Ultrasound photos 🥲

Was hoping for that cute strip of baby photos to use for my shoot that I see everyone have.. instead my tech (who was a guy) gave me one of my baby and two leg photos……. WHYYYY

And I didn’t notice till after cause I was already cleaning up when he handed it to me.. I thought it was just standard practice and that I wouldn’t have to SPECIFY. And it sucks cause there were so many moments he showed me of my baby like sucking its thumb and stuff. So dissappointed.

Tubes tied during C-section.

So I went for my appointment today with the consultant to consent for my elective C-section.
He offered to sterilise me at the same time which caught me off guard as I never even thought of it 🤣

I mean it would be nice to not have to take contraception for the next 15/20 years but I’m a bit skeptical.

Has anyone had this done during their C-section and if so, how did you find the actual procedure and also the aftermath?

Thanks :)

When can you go back on contraception after birth?

I’m a week postpartum with my 2nd baby and I’m wanting to go back on the implant just so I know I’ve sorted it and around my area there can be a waiting list for a nurse to come into my GP to do it and I’m worried if I wait til the 6 week checkup to be put on the implant that I’d have to wait longer.

If I was to go on the implant/contraception before 6 weeks, would that be a good idea?

How long till bleeding stop

How long was it till everyone stopped bleeding after c section? I’m 18 days since having my c section and I’m still bleeding. It’s off and on again, I go a few days without bleeding then it comes back as a light period, it’s normally a brown colour with a bit of red in it. Anyone else experienced this?

C-section booked for my birthday!

I had an appointment this afternoon to book in my c-section, and the only date available is my birthday! They’re fully booked several days before and after.

On one hand, it could be a nice distraction as I’m really nervous about the surgery, I’d have something to talk/laugh about with the theatre staff. Tea and toast post birth could be tea and birthday cake! But I feel a great deal of sadness that my child won’t have a special day of their own.

This sort of thing can’t be helped with spontaneous labour, but it’s a shame it’s likely to be the outcome of my planned c-section! 😕
